Hello,

I have a nice, working Boonton Measurements Model 80 that is
unfortunately missing the fine tuning dial and manual.

Is there somebody whou would be willing to sell/photocopy a manual?
Also, perhaps somebody has a junker 80 that they would be willing to
sell the dial off of - OR take a high quality photograph of the dial so
that I can make my own.

I have a Model 80 that I was using just today. I don't have a ready
source of digital
pictures but can arrange something if some one else doesn't come up with
something.

I do not have a schematic but as I recall the circuit is not complicated.

Perhaps you could answer a few questions for me:

1. Is the knob dial marked 0-100?
2. What are the major (numbered) marks? Is it every 10, or 5?
3. What are the minor (ticked) marks? Is it every 1?
4. Is the knob attached to the dial? Or to the signal generator?

It doesn't require a pad. This one came with a 20dB pad and a terminated
connector. I recall another one I used a lot that did have a pad (6 dB I
think) and there were calibration marks on the output attenuator that would
allow you to calibrate with or without the pad. For some reason we always
used the pad. It was probably a better match.

I found a dial in my junk box that looks and fits just like the original
EXCEPT the markings (0 -100) are on only 180 degrees of the dial.

However, The metal plate with the Markings can be removed (3 screws)
and turned over so you can make your own marks

Anyway it is yours if you send me an address to ship to.

The original knob on my model 80 has the metal plate staked on
to the back of the knob and it is not removable
