I wonder if these guys have ever tried to wire up and solder components
that have 50 years of tarnish..Maybe, thay just want to have these kits
to look at.. ,,Maybe, they could just hang a picture on the wall and
look at that instead ,save a bundle of money..Maybe they want to talk
about it,,,like: Hello, I am talking to you on a ricebox, and I have
an" Unbuilt" Heathkit in my closet..This is not funny.." Oldham"

Maybe you just don't understand "collecting",
Serious Heath Kit collectors want unbuilt kits.
If you don't, don't bid on it.
A built HW-8 is maybe worth $100 - $150 bucks, maybe.
The interest is in the unbuilt kit.

I built an unbuilt Eico 753 a couple of years ago. You just have to clean
whatever you solder first...I used this pencil tool with glass fibers
sticking out.
The rig still works great!!

Problem is it isn't an "unbuilt" kit! It is partially assembled, and
there are problems such as the cracked knob, no original box, stained
manual, and some scratches. hardly cherry.

I think I understand collecting enough to know that this partially
assembled kit wasn't worth over 700 bucks - If I'm going to spend that
much, it will be pristine.

Having scratch built the equivalent it's beyond me why anyone would
pay over $400 for anything like that. And as far as your silly
question - i have some left handed DC Transformers you'd love to bid
on!
