Cressman exited his position in Indianapolis last week where he oversaw Classic Rock Q95 94.7 WFBQ, Alternative Alt 103.3 WOLT and Sports 1260/97.5 WNDE. Prior to joining iHeart in 2014 he spent five years running Sagas two Rock stations in Springfield MA. Cressman fills the vacancy created by the exit of Curtiss Johnson last month. January 28, 2016 WDRV-FM “The Drive” along with Hubbard Radio Chicago VP/Market Manager John Gallagher Hubbard Radio Senior Vice President of Programming Greg Solk announced today the arrival of Rob Cressman as Program Director for the recently anointed NAB Marconi Awards Rock Station of The Year—WDRV-FM. Cressman arrives from iHeart-Media, Indianapolis where he served as Senior Vice President of Programming for WFBQ, WOLT, WNDE and WUBG for the past two years. Prior to Indianapolis, Cressman spent five years in New England where he oversaw Programming and Operations for Sagas WAQY and WLZX. Robs career includes a decade as Director of Programming for CBS Radio’s (at the time Entercoms) WMFS Memphis and eight years at the helm of WAVF-Charleston. Rob got his start in radio at WFVA/WBQB in his hometown of Fredericksburg, Virginia. All commercial stations in Top 50 markets that have five or more full-time employees will be required to migrate their public and political advertising files to the FCC hosted platform as soon as the rules go into effect. All other stations will make the transition on March 1, 2018. Broadcast television stations made the move in 2012. The new order will have all broadcast and satellite radio operators and cable/satellite providers follow suit. Mattern, the longtime PD of Alternative 105.7 The Point KPNT, also has oversees CHR Now 96.3 KNOU since its launch last January. Mattern will fill the duties most recently held by VP and Director of Programming Rick Balis. Balis will continue on as Program Director of Rock 94.7 KSHE. Along with Matterns promotion, Kyle Guderian has been upped to Director of Marketing Events for Emmis St. Louis. In addition to KSHE, KNOU and KPNT, Emmis owns Conservative Talk 97.1 KFTK in the St. Louis market. Emmis/St. Louis announced two management changes as part of a restructuring designed to position Emmis four St. Louis radio stations for further growth and success: Tommy Mattern Named Operations Manager. The 19-year veteran of Emmis St. Louis will be responsible for overseeing programming at KFTK, KSHE, KNOU and KPNT. Since joining Emmis in 1996, he has programmed six different stations, and took KPNT (105.7-The Point) to the #1 spot among adults 25-54 and 18-49. Kyle Guderian Named Director of Marketing. In this role, he will consolidate all promotions and event activity for Emmis four local stations. Most recently, Guderian split duties as Director of Marketing for Emmis St. Louis and as Promotions Director for KSHE-95. Both Tommy and Kyle are experienced veterans of the radio industry who have made amazing contributions to our success, said John Beck, Senior Vice President General Manager of Emmis Radio-St. Louis. I am confident that their leadership and experience will create even greater opportunities for all of our stations as we move ahead. Mattern joined Emmis in 1996 as Assistant Program Director and Music Director of Q-104. He was named program director of WALC (Alice) then WXTM (104.1) two years later. Tommy then switched to 105.7 The Point as its Program Director. Under Tommys leadership, KPNT became one of the most highly rated Alternative radio stations in the country. He was nominated for RR Program Director of the Year in 2006, 2008 and 2010. Mattern lives in Wildwood. In 2002, Guderian accepted the position of marketing and promotions director at Emmis-owned 105.7 The Point (KPNT) and 104.1 The Mall (WMLL). He became Emmis first director of Digital Solutions in 2008, before assuming the role in 2009 of operations manager at 97.9 The Loop (WLUP) and Q101 (WKQX) in Chicago, IL. He relocated back to St. Louis as marketing and promotions director of KSHE 95 (KSHE) and K-HITS 96.3 (KIHT), and in 2014 was promoted to director of marketing for all four Emmis St. Louis stations while also being promotions director for KSHE.
