/////////////////////////////////////////// B-Dub Moves To KMLE Posted: 29 Jan 2016 12:33 PM PST https://radioinsight.com/blog/headli...moves-to-kmle/ Now we know why Alpha Media needed to name two new Music Directors for Country 98.7 The Bull KUPL and CHR Live 95.5 KBFF Portland. Brian B-Dub Washington is exiting his position as APD/MD of those stations and Afternoon host at KUPL to head to CBS Country 107.9 KMLE Phoenix for those same APD/MD/Afternoon duties. Prior to joining KUPL, Washington worked mainly in CHR including afternoons at Q102 WIOQ Philadelphia and nights at 103.7 Kiss-FM WXSS Milwaukee. B-Dub fills the afternoon vacancy at KMLE created by Chris Matthews move to mornings. Bryan B-Dub Washington is appointed Assistant Program Director, Music Director and afternoon host of Country KMLE-FM (The New KMLE @ 107.9)/Phoenix. Washington will be heard weekdays from 2-6pm beginning February 1 and replaces Chris Matthews, who moves to mornings. Washington most recently served as Assistant PD/MD at Country KUPL-FM/Portland, Oregon, as well as the host of syndicated Buckwild Saturday Night show. B-Dub is a remarkable on-air talent and programmer, said CBS Radio/Phoenix VP/Programming Tim Richards. His obvious love for radio makes him a fantastic fit for KMLE. We are looking forward to creating radio magic with B-Dub on the team. I am thrilled to get the opportunity to join the KMLE Nation, and work with Tim Richards and the entire crew at CBS Radio Phoenix, added Washington. Im ready to learn, grow and have fun making great radio. Danny Dwyer adds those duties at Country 98.7 The Bull KUPL. Dwyer has been with the station for eighteen years and also works as a traffic reporter for KPTV-TV in the market. Amanda Ice Habrowski will take the position at CHR Live 95.5 KBFF. Habrowski came to KBFF in 2014 following Alpha VP/Programming Phil Becker from Hot 107.9 WJFX Fort Wayne IN. She previously worked in her hometown of Detroit and appeared as a contestant on VH1s Flavor of Love and I Love Money. Alpha Media, Portland announced that they promoted Danny Dwyer and Amanda ICE Habrowski to Music Director. Danny made his way into country music by working for different radio stations in Southern California (KZLA, KHAY KTPI) before moving to the Great Northwest and becoming part of an exclusive team at 98.7 The Bull. For the past 18 years Danny has long been considered a major champion of the station and has also been the official “Man On The Street”in the Mornings, Night jock, Promotion Director, recently Midday Host and now proudly named Music Director at 98.7 The BULL, He’s even been known to clean the company kitchen. Dannys a working machine when he’s not on the radio or TV covering traffic for KPTV/FOX 12 he can also be found marrying couples as a ordained minister. He loves to spend time with his wife Kimmy 3 kids Austin, Alexis, and Tanner engaging in sports such as Softball, Golfing, Flip Cup, Beer Pong, Lake Surfing Camping by a lake. Alpha Media Executive VP of Programming, Scott Mahalick commented on the announcement, Were proud to be able to grow and advance people from with the company. Danny is a star whos capabilities run very deep. Im excited to have him represent Alpha to the Nashville country music community. Im extremely blessed and proud to be a part of the Alpha family and excited to kickstart my next chapter as MD! This is something I have set out to do for years and now I get the opportunity to work with some great mentors and follow my dreams, remarked Danny. Originally hailing from the city of Detroit, Amanda “ICE” Habrowski is now a proud resident of Portland. None other than Public Enemy’s Flavor Flav coined her infamous “ICE” moniker during a stint on VH1’s “Flavor of Love 3,” where, unfortunately, Ms. Habrowski did not find the love she was searching for. But everything turned out just fine, because it left her with a rad nickname and another VH1 appearance on “I Love Money 2.” A big fan of house and techno, Amanda holds true to her Detroit roots with a love for dance music and can often be spotted dancing when she thinks no one is looking. She is also madly in love with cheese—cheddar, swiss, gouda; Amanda does not discriminate against any variety and can be wooed with a couple slices. Her one-of-a-kind voice has been heard on the radio for 10 years now, bringing her to the Portland market, where she spins today’s hottest tracks fused with a Detroit-bred passion for music. Alpha Media VP of Programming, Phil Becker had the following to say, It has always been our companies policy to allow music to be programmed on the local level. ICEs passion for music and our industry will benefit everyone involved with Live 95.5. Theres no other station Id rather be at than Live 955. Alpha Media takes care of their employees and I cannot WAIT to make the most out of this opportunity, stated ICE. Sometimes a change falls through the cracks that baffles us on how nobody picked up on it. But the problem gets much worse when the stations operator does nothing to get the word out about its new identity. Back in December, iHeartMedia gave Country 97.1 KYWD Green Valley/Tucson AZ a fresh coat of paint as its Wild Country name gave way to The Bull. Yet the company has done nothing to notify anybody of the change. The companys local advertising page still proudly promotes KYWD as Wild Country. Neither of the two local media columnists nor any national site was given a release to give the station some attention. This is a station that garnered a mere 1.0 share in the just released Fall 2015 Nielsen Audio ratings. Why wouldnt there be any attempt to promote its attempt to refresh its identity? If you keep your station invisible, why would listeners or advertisers bother to care about it? The post If A Station Rebrands And Doesnt Make A Sound appeared first on RadioInsight.
