KFWB Los Angeles To Flip To Desi 980 Tuesday

Monday, February 29 will be the final day of broadcasting for Sports 980
The Beast KFWB Los Angeles. Universal Media Access will take control of the
station on March 1 and launch South Asian Desi 980. KFWB began its current
Sports format in August 2014. The KFWB License Trust sold it to Universal
Media Access in January for $8 million after CBS Radio was forced to divest
it. Neither the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers or MLS’ Los Angeles Galaxy have
announced new flagship stations yet. The Clippers will remain on 980
through the remainder of the current season if they do not sign to move to
a new flagship station.

KJAC Returns As The Colorado Sound

Community Radio For Northern Colorado debuted its new AAA 105.5 The
Colorado Sound KJAC Tinmath/Fort Collins CO today. CRNC purchased then
Sports ESPN Denver in December from Front Range Sports Network for $3
million. KJAC will allow new sister 91.5 KUNC Greeley to drop its music
programming to focus completely on Public News/Talk. The KJAC staff will
include former KBCO host Ron Bostwick in mornings and former 92.9 Dave-FM
WZGC Atlanta host Margot Chobanian in middays. Former KBCO host Keefer
Fulgham, who joined KUNC last year will serve as MD/afternoon host and KUNC
host Benji will move to nights.
