Reed fills the vacancy created by the exit of Director of Operations Steve Hunter in March. Hunter also oversaw Classic Rock 103.3 The Eagle KJSR. He had been with iHeart Toledo since April 2008 and previously spent twelve years in the Flint MI market. Cox Media Group (CMG) Tulsa has named Nathan Reed as Director of Branding and Programming for KRAV-FM (Mix 96). Reed’s first day on the job will be Monday, May 9. Reed has spent 20 years in various programming roles across multiple formats, most recently as Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia’s seven station cluster in Toledo, Ohio. Veteran talk host Dan Yorke returns to the Afternoon Drive anchor chair at WPRO, the position held by former Providence Mayor Buddy Cianci for over seven years until his untimely passing earlier this year. Yorke previously hosted the 12PM Noon-3PM show on WPRO, and also hosts his own daily television show on myRItv and Fox Providence. Matt Allen, on air with WPRO since 2000, moves into the 12PM Noon to 3PM slot. Former TV reporter, Buddy Cianci’s producer, and on-air talent Tara Granahan, will now host early evenings from 6PM to 9PM on WPRO. The new WPRO line-up kicks off Monday morning with the News with Gene Valicenti in Morning Drive. Valicenti is also a top-rated anchorman on NBC10 in Providence.
