Among the upcoming guests that Couric and co-host Brian Goldsmith that Earwolf teases are Senator Al Franken, Bob Costas and Jonathan Weisman. The program will debut on Thursday, July 28. Earwolf describes the program as: Journalism’s most insightful interviewer. The biggest names in news, politics, and popular culture. The station is featuring the syndicated Free Beer Hot Wings in mornings and is jockless the remainder of the day. Townsquare had purchased the translator from the University of Massachusetts and moved it to Augusta to rebroadcast 1400 WJZN. The former Kool AM programming of WJZN continues on 1490 WTVL Waterville. The Augusta market did not have a Classic Rock station of its own with Townsquares 102.9 WBLM Portland the closest available. WJZN will also create a local competitor to Blueberry Broadcastings Active Rock WTOS trimulcast. /////////////////////////////////////////// iHeartRadio Partners With NPR For Streaming Posted: 14 Jul 2016 07:08 AM PDT https://radioinsight.com/blog/headli...for-streaming/ Following their partnership with Libsyn for podcasts last week, iHeartRadio is continuing to open up its platform to other content providers. iHeart has announced it and NPR have come to terms allowing Public News/Talk member stations to stream on the iHeartRadio platform with iHeart turning over 50% of the stations landing pages banner inventory to the station for donations and support. iHeartMedia today announced an agreement with NPR that will allow its Member stations to make their live News Talk programming available via iHeartRadio, iHeartMedia’s free all-in-one digital music and live streaming radio service. Through this agreement, more than 260 NPR Member stations will have the opportunity to stream their live programming on iHeartRadio, which is available across more than 80 unique device platforms including in-home entertainment, wearables, gaming consoles, enhanced auto dashboards and more. iHeartRadio has over a billion app downloads, more than 85 million registered users and its network reaches more than 85 million social followers offering these public radio stations the ability to reach millions of new listeners nationwide. In support of the public radio mission, all stations that join iHeartRadio will also have access to fifty percent of their individual iHeartRadio landing pages digital banner inventory to encourage listeners to donate and directly support the stations public programming. The addition of NPRs Member stations helps to create even more signature audio content for iHeartRadio listeners, said Darren Davis, President of iHeartRadio iHeartMedia Networks. By joining forces, it is the perfect way for public radio stations to reach listeners on new platforms and to provide iHeartRadio users with additional high-quality News Talk programming wherever they are.
