/////////////////////////////////////////// ESPN Clarksville Moves To 104.1 Posted: 19 Jul 2016 11:27 AM PDT https://radioinsight.com/blog/headli...oves-to-104-1/ Saga Communications Sports ESPN Clarksville 540 WKFN Clarksville TN has moved its FM simulcast from 100.7 W264CK to 104.1 W281BT Clarksville. The move is tied to WKFNs new AM Revitalization translator move into Clarksville. W281BT was originally located in Morganfield KY. Despite the press statements claiming a better a signal on 104.1, both W264CK and W281BT have nearly identical 250w/101m patterns from the same antenna. Saga states that 100.7 W264CK will debut a new HD fed format in September once the ESPN audience is fully moved to the new signal. We have previously reported on plans for the translator to flip to Classic Country utilizing the Outlaw brand that Saga has rolled out in multiple markets. Following a year-long process of FCC applications and engineering studies, Clarksville-based 5 Star Radio has moved the dial position for ESPN Clarksville from 100.7 FM to 104.1 FM. The all sports format will continue to broadcast on 540 AM. ESPN Clarksville features Mike Mike in the Morning, Dan Le Batard, Jim Rome and other ESPN programming and is the flagship station for the Gov’s Sports Network, featuring Austin Peay State University Athletics. “The new dial position is better for technical reasons and we believe it to be a more competitive spot for listeners to find us,” said General Manager Katie Gambill. Station Brand Manager Scott Chase said the switch provides a larger megaphone for local sports. “With APSU’s new stadium and some promising new coaches, this improved signal is going to help more fans discover Gov’s athletics.” Chase said. ESPN Clarksville will continue to broadcast Titans and St. Louis Cardinals games and has also added Mike Sinnott, who covers local and regional sports and photographer Michael Rios to provide local digital content to the station website. Gambill said ESPN Clarksville will continue to broadcast on 100.7 FM as well as 104.1 FM until listeners are used to the change. “Then we’re planning to launch an all new music format in late summer,” Gambill said. The format for the new station will be announced in September. /////////////////////////////////////////// KXOJ Tulsa Prepping Move To 94.1 Posted: 19 Jul 2016 08:39 AM PDT https://radioinsight.com/blog/headli...-move-to-94-1/ Stephens Media Christian AC 100.9 KXOJ-FM Sapulpa/Tulsa OK announced this morning that it will relocate its programming to what is now sister AC 94.1 The Breeze KTSO Glenpool on Tuesday, August 16 at 7:30am. The move places the KXOJ programming on the 100kW Class C1 signal of 94.1 as opposed to the recently upgraded 19kW Class C3 100.9 signal where it will better reach the rural areas surrounding Tulsa. Owner David Stephens made the announcement this morning during KXOJs morning show. No plans have been announced for the 100.9 frequency, however it appears the current AC format of KTSO will not survive the move as no corresponding move has been announced. After broadcasting on 100.9 FM for over thirty-nine years, national award winning radio station, KXOJ, is changing frequency to 94.1 FM, effective August 16th at 7:30 AM. This move allows KXOJ to broadcast with an effective radiated power of 100,000 watts, the maximum allowed by the Federal Communications Commission. “Changing frequency to 94.1 FM allows KXOJ to reach more people, in more areas, with a more consistent signal. Making the change enhances the core purpose of the radio station, which is to get Contemporary Christian Music in as many ears as possible,” said KXOJ owner, David Stephens. Currently, KXOJ broadcasts with an effective radiated power of 19,000 watts. The move to 94.1 FM represents a power increase of over 400%. There are no other changes planned for the radio station, however, KXOJ’s move to 94.1 FM will launch with a multi-media campaign, and incentives for listeners to migrate over to the new frequency. /////////////////////////////////////////// KTCT San Francisco Adds Local Morning Show Posted: 19 Jul 2016 06:57 AM PDT https://radioinsight.com/blog/headli...-morning-show/ Cumulus Sports KNBR 1050 KTCT San Francisco is adding a local morning show as it revamps the station as a younger alternative to sister 680 KNBR.
