Loveline with Amber Rose will feature weekly hour long episodes on Thursdays starting September 8. Play.it will soon add a video component with the first fifteen minutes of each show added on a Facebook and the entire show coming to the Play.it YouTube channel at a later date. Amber Rose is a model and actress, who most recently hosted a talk show on VH1. Dr. Chris Donaghue is clinical therapist focusing on human sexuality. Loveline debuted on 106.7 KROQ Los Angeles in 1983 and its most recent iteration syndicated by Westwood One ended in April with the exit of Dr. Drew Pinsky and ‘Psycho Mike’ Catherwood. CBS RADIO and CBS Local Digital Media today announced the podcast launch of “Loveline with Amber Rose,” a new weekly show hosted by feminist, author, model and actress, Amber Rose, hosted on the Play.it network. The hour-long show will be released weekly on Thursdays via LovelineWithAmberRose.com and iTunes beginning Thursday, Sept. 8. In the launch episode, Rose chats with the shows co-host and resident sex therapist, Dr. Chris Donaghue, delving into a number of topics including sexual confidence, sexting and more. “Loveline with Amber Rose” marks the return of the popular “Loveline” talk radio show, now in the contemporary podcast format. The show will explore topics ranging from sexual curiosity and relationships to self-empowerment – all embodying Rose’s distinct and refreshing honesty and flair. In each episode, she and Dr. Donaghue will chat openly with other sex counselors and special guests as they discuss stories and topical issues, as well as take listeners’ calls so they can share their personal experiences in a judgement-free environment. “Were excited to relaunch ‘Loveline’ as a Play.it original,” said Chris Oliviero, Executive Vice President, Programming, CBS RADIO. “Amber’s modern take on love and relationships is not only an ideal fit for the evolution of this iconic franchise, but she will also help further expand the reach and appeal of our entire on demand platform.” “Amber Rose’s distinctive voice is a welcomed addition to the growing roster of original podcasts on Play.it,” added Adam Wiener, Executive Vice President and General Manager, CBS Local Digital Media. “Her blunt commentary on sex, relationships, and love is sure to be a hit with her loyal fans and our listeners. We are thrilled to bring a fresh take to the brand with Rose’s unique perspective and introduce a whole new generation to ‘Loveline.’” “I am super excited to take over and work with such a legendary brand like ‘Loveline,’” said Rose. “This podcast is a chance for me to share my raw and honest experiences with my fans and hear their stories. Dr. Donaghue and I have a great relationship, and I’m happy he’s joining me on this journey. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!” The podcast will also be captured on video, which will debut at a later date via the Play.it YouTube channel. Additionally, upon video launch, the first 10-15 minutes of each podcast episode will be streamed on Facebook Live through Rose’s page, during which her fans can engage and ask questions. Fans will have an exclusive opportunity to win a trip of a lifetime to Los Angeles to meet Rose in person through Play.it’s sweepstakes beginning today. More information on the contest can be found via LovelineWithAmberRose.com. Listeners can also participate in the conversation via Rose’s official Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat pages using the hashtag #LovelineAmberRose. Beginning in 1983 on CBS RADIO’s KROQ in Los Angeles, “Loveline” was the longest running talk radio show ever on FM radio in the United States. The program went on to be nationally syndicated, and eventually led to a television show on MTV with the same name. The show spanned multiple generations with listeners calling in to get their questions on sex, relationships and more answered live on-air. MUVA, as Rose is affectionately known, has quickly become the unapologetic face of neo-feminism. Her rise to massive popularity is largely attributed to her controversial yet impactful voice on women’s issues, through her non-profit, the Amber Rose Foundation, dedicated to women empowerment and equality. Last year, Rose rallied her massive social media following to help produce the largest demonstration in the World to raise awareness about victim blaming in sexual assault for survivors and supporters. The inaugural event drew over 10,000 people, as well as the millions streaming online, and will be held again this year in Los Angeles on Oct. 1. In addition to her philanthropy, Rose has an extensive entrepreneurial profile, which includes acting, producing film and television, modeling, an active public speaking and touring schedule, a clothing line, management company, top-selling book with Simon Schuster, and the #1 paid-app in the world MUVAmoji. She also hosts a well-received talk show on VH1 titled, “The Amber Rose Show,” and is the face of Flirt Cosmetics, a partnership with Estee Lauder. Dr. Donaghue is a Doctor of Clinical Sexology and Human Sexuality, Doctoral trained in Clinical Psychology, Licensed Clinical Therapist, and a Certified Sex Therapist. He is nationally recognized as a sex and relationship expert, featured expert on VH1’s “The Amber Rose Show,” regularly appearing on CBS’s “The Doctors,” WE’s “Sex Box,” Logo TV’s “Bad Sex,” and has been featured in Newsweek, and seen on CNN, OWN, Dr. Drew’s “Lifechangers,” National Geographic and many more. His first book, “Sex Outside the Lines: Authentic Sexuality in a Sexually Dysfunctional Culture” was published July 2015. /////////////////////////////////////////// Sky 106.5 Debuts in Clarksburg Posted: 06 Sep 2016 05:32 AM PDT https://radioinsight.com/blog/headli...in-clarksburg/ West Virginia Radio Corporation flipped AC Magic 106.5 WWLW Clarksburg WV to Classic Hits Sky 106.5 on Labor Day. The stations airstaff remains in-tact with the change. WWLW ranked fourth in the Morgantown-Clarksburg-Fairmont market with a 5.2 share in the Spring 2016 Nielsen Audio ratings, but the new format creates considerable overlap with AJG Corporations Classic Top 40 93.1 WFGM Barrackville, which is in a JSA with West Virginia Radio Corporation. That station registered a 1.8 share in the Spring ratings. /////////////////////////////////////////// WCMI Launches Cat Sports 93.3 Posted: 06 Sep 2016 05:30 AM PDT https://radioinsight.com/blog/headli...t-sports-93-3/ Kindred Communications has broken up the ESPN Radio 94.1 simulcast of 930 WRVC/94.1 W231BS Huntington WV and 1340 WCMI Ashland/93.3 W227CI Catlettsburg KY. WCMI/W227CI has broken off into its own Sports format as Cat Sports 93.3 as it supplements the ESPN programming with that focusing on the University of Kentucky. WCMI will carry Kentucky sports along with the regionally syndicated Kentucky Sports Radio from 10am-12pm, along with Big Blue Weekly, The Leach Report, and The Mark Stoops Show. The station will continue to carry Cincinnati Bengals football as well. /////////////////////////////////////////// FCC Report 9/5: How To Track Translator Applications Posted: 05 Sep 2016 02:07 PM PDT https://radioinsight.com/blog/headli...-applications/ And the thing is we found out about it from a listener. That was Empire Broadcasting head Steve Kingston in response to his AAA 103.1 WRNR-FM Grasonville/Annapolis MD gaining a new co-channel neighbor from the AM Translator Revitalization Waiver. American FM Associates was granted a CP to move 94.3 W276DE Roxana DE to 103.1 in Baltimore where it would rebroadcast Christian Talk 1230 WRBS with 99w/49m. While the new translator will come nowhere near the protected contour of WRNR, the station reaches a much broader area thanks to the water propagation of the Chesapeake Bay. Much like other translators that have attempted to move into markets where rimshot stations were already established, it is doubtful the translator will ever see light of day on 103.1 once WRNRs Petition For Reconsideration is filed.
