/////////////////////////////////////////// CBS Radio & Westwood One Extend Syndication Pact Posted: 20 Sep 2016 01:20 PM PDT https://radioinsight.com/blog/headli...dication-pact/ CBS Radio and Westwood One have announced a multi-year extension of their deal for Westwood One to continue to distribute CBS Radio content. The programming included in the deal are CBS Radio News, CBS Sports Radio, and The Daly Download with Carson Daly. Interesting to note in the release that it does not mention Cumulus (owners of Westwood One) being a partner to CBS in CBS Sports Radio anymore. Cumulus originally held a stake in the network as exclusive syndicator and sales partner. CBS RADIO and Westwood One are pleased to announce a multi-year renewal of their existing multi-platform content and distribution agreement. This deal marks an extension to CBS RADIO and Westwood One’s longstanding relationship spanning over 20 years. Under the terms of the agreement, Westwood One will continue to distribute the following CBS RADIO content: · CBS Sports Radio, which is heard on 330+ stations, on the streaming service Radio.com and the CBS Sports app. The 24/7 sports talk network features respected and popular sportscasters and former athletes, including Jim Rome, Doug Gottlieb, Tiki Barber, Brandon Tierney, Brian Jones, Gregg Giannotti, Amy Lawrence, Scott Ferrall, Damon “DA” Amendolara, and more. · CBS Radio News, heard on 670 stations and via the CBS Radio News app; a product of CBS News. The 24/7 award-winning network offers news content from around the world, hourly reports, breaking news, special reports and updates, affiliate services and more. · The Daly Download with Carson Daly, heard on 108 stations, on Radio.com and select affiliate websites. Every weekend, popular radio and TV personality Carson Daly hosts a non-stop, interactive music party, counting down the most-listened-to songs of the week, interspersed with exclusive artist interviews and Carson’s Pick of the Week. CBS RADIO President André Fernandez said, “Westwood One has been a great partner to us for many years, helping us expand the reach and audience of our sports, news and entertainment content and deliver unprecedented value to advertisers. We are proud that our informative and entertaining shows have been so well received and will continue to be accessible to millions of fans.” “We’re honored to extend our longstanding relationship with CBS RADIO,” said Suzanne Grimes, Westwood One’s President and EVP, Corporate Marketing for Cumulus Media. “Their leading stations and high quality programming bring enormous value to our listeners and our advertising partners. We look forward to representing these world-class products for years to come.” /////////////////////////////////////////// Hollywood Reporter: Tessera to Acquire Audio Technology Firm DTS (Owner Of HDRadio) for $850M Posted: 20 Sep 2016 12:54 PM PDT http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/new...ire-dts-930990 /////////////////////////////////////////// Report: iHeartMedia To Launch Paid Streaming Service Posted: 20 Sep 2016 06:00 AM PDT https://radioinsight.com/blog/headli...aming-service/ The New York Post reports today that iHeartMedia is planning on launching two new paid subscription tiers to the iHeartRadio app to take on competitors like Pandora, Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Prime.
