WQXL Columbia SC Moving To 100.7

Capital City Communications Conservative Talk 95.9 The Point 1470 WQXL
Columbia SC will move its FM signal from 95.9 W240AX to 100.7 W264DF on
Sunday, January 1.

W264DF is being moved into Columbia from Lumber City GA as part of the AM
Revitalization. It will improve WQXLs FM coverage as 95.9 currently
operates with a directional 250w/71m, while W264DF will operate with
210w/164m from northeast of downtown.

WQXL and both translators are owned by Glory Communications and operated
via LMA. The Talk format was launched in October 2013 by former WVOC host
Keven Cohen to bring his show back to the Columbia market.

Leighton Broadcasting has flipped Sports 1020 The Game KJJK Fergus Falls MN
to CHR Channel 97.7 with the addition of translator 97.7 K249EZ.

Northpine.com reports that the flip took place after a run with Christmas
music and 48 hours of non-stop Prince. An afternoon host using the name
McLovin will debut in early January.

iHeartMedia is prepping a new format for Classic Hits Sunny 93.5 WSNV
Salem/Roanoke VA.

The new format will debut on Tuesday, January 3 at 10:00am. Until then the
station is running hour-long format blocks and asking listeners to vote for
a new format on the website of sister Rhythmic CHR 104.9 WJJS.

WSNV registered a 3.3 share in the Spring 2016 Nielsen Audio ratings. Its
format included some overlap with sister Variety Hits 106.1 Steve-FM
Vinton. Lynchburg Radio Groups Oldies 103.9/106.9 WHTU Big Island/WZZI
Bedford also covers parts of the Roanoke market.

Hella 87.7 To Bring Alternative To Chico & Redding

Classic Country 87.7 Hank-FM KEFM-LP Chico/KNNN-LP Redding CA will flip to
Alternative Hella 87.7 on January 1 as the station shifts to new management.

The stations, which had been operated by Mapleton Communications via LMA
from Venture Technologies Group, will now be operated by Jesse Angelos
Hella Media Group. The station launched as a webcaster earlier this year.

Angelo previously worked for Mapleton Communications Redding cluster
including hosting middays at AC 104.3 K-Shasta KSHA.

After stunting as Santa 106.9 for the second straight year, Brewer Media
launched Soft AC Easy 106.9 on W295BI Chattanooga/WPLZ-HD2.

The revamped format is more contemporary than the Soft Oldies Big Easy
106.9 format it replaces. The new format is meant to flank sister Classic
Hits Big 95.3 WPLZ Ooltewah against Bahakel AC Sunny 92.3 WDEF-FM.

For the second time this year, Cumulus Media has debuted a new format on
600 WSOM Youngstown OH.

After first flipping from Conservative Talk to Adult Standards in May, WSOM
switched after Christmas to Classic Country. AM 600 is utilizing the
Westwood One network feed.
