I'm arriving to this post many, many years late. But, I just read Jim's boo
k which I picked up off ebay, and the dedication in the front reads "To Pam : Good luck on your broadcasting career. Jim Ladd 8/3/91". I loved it. I was not a listener during the "Mighty 'METs" high water mark, but I was stationed in SoCal in 1982 and '83 (USMC, at MCAS El Toro), so I did catch them before disintegration. Even though Jim does nothing but bash KLOS in the book, I found it to be an excellent station also. Here are a few of my additions to the name decyphering: Joanne Goodwin = Cynthia Fox Wiley Perch = Pat "Paraquat" Kelly To anyone who finds this post down the road. I collect airchecks. I have a ton. Correction, 2 tons. Including many from KMET and KLOS from back in the day. I prefer to trade them, but do sell them to people with nothing to tr ade. Drop me a line if you're interested. Last thing. Years ago, I came across a guy who had met someone and a swap m eet. This guy said that he had heard a rumor of someone on SoCal who "had 1 000 hours of KMET on reel to reel". I need this person. Bad. I have a finde r's fee if someone ever does locate this holy grail. "Who-ya to ya" -Chris |
