Hunter Hancock R&B DJ - Online Broadcast For those that grew up in Los Angeles in the 1950's you will immediately recognize the name of Old H.H. -- Hunter Hancock -- who has the esteemed honor of being the First DJ in history to have the first show dedicated entirely to Rhythm and Blues then known as 'Race Records' in 1948. Hunter Hancock finally retired in 1968 from KGFJ in Los Angeles. And had not broadcasted except for a LP for the 50's and 60's Cruisin' Series. Except Hunter Hancock did do one exclusive show for Rock-it Radio in Ventura, California in the Fall of 2001 -- And at the age of 84 -- he proved he could still "Hunt with the best of them" on the Lane Quigley Memory Lane Show. Today Hunter is 87 years old and though in fraile health remains in High Spirits!
