On FRIDAY JUNE 18, 2004 the RAY CHARLES Memorial Service at the First AME
Church will be broadcast Live on KKJZ-FM (88.1) from 10 a.m. until Noon. [ Moderator's Note: K-JAZZ simulcasts on KUOR-FM 89.1 Redlands. KUOR is available throughout the Inland Empire and up here in the Victor Valley. For those inland that can't reach 88.1 in Long Beach: Try KUOR. I will be listening today. ] L.A. TIMES June 15, 2004 QUICK TAKES by Geoff Boucher Memorial set for Ray Charles A public memorial service for the late Ray Charles has been scheduled for noon Thursday. The 73-year-old singer, who died last Thursday, will lie in repose until 8 p.m. at the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center, which is adjacent to Staples Center downtown. A private funeral is scheduled for Friday at the First AME Church with Stevie Wonder, Willie Nelson and B.B. King among the expected program participants. |
