Spanish language listeners in Buenos Aires now have more opportunity to hear
BBC World Service programmes. Radio Europa 97.1 FM has revamped its schedule to include programmes in Spanish. Radio Europa listeners in Argentina's capital can now hear BBC Spanish American service programmes nine hours daily, Mondays to Fridays from 1200 to 2100 and on Sundays from 1800 to 2200 local time. Listeners will continue to receive BBC World Service programmes in English from 2100 to 0500. Radio Europa is a collaboration between BBC and Radio France Internationale, and the new schedule will continue to carry the RFI output. Lucio Mesquita, Head of the Americas Region, BBC World Service, said: "The addition of Spanish language programming to Radio Europa recognises the language's cosmopolitan and global role along with English and French. By broadcasting in Spanish we will be able to bring to a wider audience in Buenos Aires the BBC's high quality international programming." Gustavo Muro, Director of Radio Europa, said: "We are pleased to be broadcasting a wider choice of programming from the world's leading international radio broadcaster. With access to BBC Spanish programming, Radio Europa's listeners will benefit from Spanish language news and features with a global perspective." In addition to the programming on Radio Europa 97.1, BBC World Service programmes are currently broadcast on FM in Buenos Aires on la 2x4 92.7 FM and Radio Belgrano 89.3 FM, and on AM on Continental 590 AM, Radio Colonia 550 AM and its national network Radio de la Ciudad 1110 AM. http://medianetwork.blogspot.com/ |
