(I received this today.)
Dear Mike, Internet radio is passively measured, more people are listening than ever before, and there are lots of "niche" formats by which ads can be targeted to specific audiences. Moreover, Internet radio is uncluttered, reaches the workplace, and makes a perfect "supplemental" media. These are some of the reasons MediaPost's "Online Spin" columnist Tom Hespos (not to mention Ronning-Lipset's Eric Ronning) thinks Internet radio will find success this year. You can check out the logic in today's issue of "RAIN: Radio And Internet Newsletter," online at http://www.kurthanson.com . Also today: -- Digitally Imported is now offering aacPlus-encoded streams... -- A portable, Wi-Fi-enabled Internet radio tuner called Infusion will be demonstrated at the CES this month. Today's RAIN is brought to you by Limelight Networks, a leading provider of audio and video streaming solutions for today's top webcasters. Sincerely, Paul Maloney Editor RAIN: Radio And Internet Newsletter P.S.
