FCC Actions

After losing their Petition For Reconsideration for their translator CP
last month, Levine/Schwab Partnerships CP for 1500 KWIF Culver City/Los
Angeles has expired as he FCC rejected their request to toll the deadline
for their CP. The Construction Permit was originally granted in 2016 and
would have originally expired on November 2, 2019. Due to a contested
petition for reconsideration of its grant, the deadline was first extended
to April 13, 2020. An additional six month extension was given in March due
to the California state shutdown. KWIF filed in September for another
extension on the basis that many non-essential businesses were still
shutdown making it impossible to obtain equipment and that it would be
difficult to find construction crews due to the air quality caused by the
California wildfires. That was dismissed making KWIFs Construction Permit
to have expired in October.

The FCC issued a $3000 fine to Imani Communications Corporation for the
late license renewal of 105.3 WBFZ Selma AL. WBFZs license renewal was set
to be filed by October 1, 2019 but was not filed until March 23, 2020 with
no explanation provided for the delay.

Novembers approval of all-digital AM operation was published in the Federal
Register on December 3. With that, the rulemaking will take effect on
January 4, 2021.

The FCC has updated the FM Table of Allotments to re-add the allotments for
Class A signals on 101.7 Cuba MO and 102.3 Wheatland MO
Deletions

In order to close on its purchase of 1060 KFOY Sparks/Reno NV, Lotus Radio
has surrendered the license of 1180 KCKQ Sparks.

Minnesota Christian Broadcasting turned in their license for 89.5 KFNK
Franklin MN.
