The agency states that commercial broadcast licensees are obligated to ensure that every “sharing” agreement pertaining to the operation of the station whether involving the lease of airtime, the joint sale of advertising, or the sharing of operational services, is retained in their Online Public Inspection Files (OPIF). This includes all LMAs, JSAs, or other shared services agreements in place. These agreements may be redacted as necessary to protect confidential or proprietary information, but they must be retained in OPIF as long as they remain in force. In regards to Sponsorship Identification, the FCC is cracking down on paid-for programs that are not disclosed as such stating, Broadcasters who air paid-for programming without disclosing the program’s sponsor can mislead the public and promote unfair competition. Such non-disclosures foster the perception by the public that a paid announcement is the station’s editorial content, while concealing that the station is being paid by a third party to promote a particular message. That impression can also give undisclosed sponsors an unfair advantage over competitors whose paid programming is properly disclosed as paid-for material. The notice regarding the online public files can be read here, while the notice about the Sponsorship Identification Laws can be found here. /////////////////////////////////////////// Smooth Jazz Returns To Honolulu Posted: 12 Mar 2021 08:26 AM PST https://radioinsight.com/headlines/2...s-to-honolulu/ H Hawaii Media has flipped Country 107.5 Nash Icon K298BA Honolulu/101.1 KORL-HD3 Waianae HI to Smooth Jazz Jazzy 107.5.
