![]() RadioInsight /////////////////////////////////////////// Four Syndicated Shows Gain Former Rick & Sasha Affiliates; KMJK Kansas City Goes Local In Mornings Posted: 11 Apr 2021 01:10 PM PDT https://radioinsight.com/headlines/2...l-in-mornings/ With the announcement last month that Westwood One would be ceasing distribution of the Rick Sasha morning show as of Friday, April 16, most of Cumulus Medias stations carrying the program have moved to new shows. The biggest gainer from the end of Rick Sasha is Reach Medias Rickey Smiley Morning Show. The move of Smiley from Hip Hop to Adult RB stations was part of the impetus for Cumulus to launch Rick Sasha as a competitor for Tom Joyners former affiliates. Now Smiley has added distribution in seven southeastern markets: Magic 107.3\ WMGL Ravenel/Charleston SC Magic 94.3 WCMG Latta/Florence SC Kiss 103.1 WLXC Columbia SC Magic 103.9 WTYB Bluffton SC/Savannah GA Magic 106.1 WRRX Gulf Breeze/Pensacola FL 96.1 Jamz WHBX Tallahassee FL Mix 106.1 WMXU Starkville/Columbus MS Reach Medias Russ Parr Morning Show was added at 104.1 WDLT-FM Saraland/Mobile AL. Premiere Networks Steve Harvey Morning Show adds V100 100.1 WVIB Holton MI. Compass Media Networks DeDe In The Morning hosted by DeDe McGuire adds a pair of Louisiana markets with launches on 102.9 KMEZ Belle Chasse/New Orleans and Magic 102.9 KVMA-FM Shreveport. 107.3 KMJK North Kansas City MO will launch a new local morning show hosted by Sean Tyler and Tasha Mack on Monday, April 19. Tyler previously hosted middays at KMJK, but is best known for his long run co-hosting mornings at 103.3 KPRS-FM Kansas City. Mack most recently was heard on a local webcaster and has previously hosted at Community 90.1 KKFI Kansas City. BIG Announcement: Starting on Monday April 19th at 5am its the NEW 107-3 Morning Wake Up with @SeanTylerKC1 and @tashafromthedot https://t.co/fgVc7DjuP4 - 107.3 KC (@1073KC) April 8, 2021 Among the stations to not yet announce morning plans are Classic Hip Hop OG 97.9 W250BC/WWWQ-HD3 Atlanta and soon-to-be sold Radio 103.9 WNBM Bronxville/New York. /////////////////////////////////////////// FCC Report 4/11: The Final 9/11 Displacement Seeks To Make Its Move Permanent Posted: 11 Apr 2021 12:17 PM PDT https://radioinsight.com/headlines/2...ove-permanent/ FM Changes Spanish Broadcasting Systems Spanish AC 93.1 Amor WPAT-FM Paterson NJ has operated under STA from the Empire State Building since the stations antenna atop the World Trade Center was destroyed on 9/11/2001. While other stations such as 89.9 WKCR-FM and 103.5 WKTU found new permanent sites years ago, WPAT-FM had to deal with pre-1964 short-spacing to 92.9 WMGS Wilkes-Barre PA, 93.1 WHYN-FM Springfield MA and 93.3 WMMR Philadelphia. Applications in 2002 and 2019 sought to operate WPAT-FM with 6kW/415m, but both were dismissed due to the interference it would cause to WHYN-FM after the FCC denied the waiver SBS sought to re‐establish a technical facility at ESB equivalent to the technical facility destroyed by terrorists on WTC. Now SBS seeks to convert the facilities used by WPAT-FM via its long-running STA into the permanent facilities with 4.8kW/415m. FCC Actions The FCC is opening a comment period from May 10 to May 24 on iHeartMedias request to allow Global Media Entertainment to hold up to a 9.99% stake in the company. The FCC has denied Triangle Access Broadcastings objection to the license renewal of Educational Media Foundations 96.1 W241AI Gorgas, 102.1 W271BN Birmingham and 106.5 W293CM Graysville AL. Much like other objections filed in recent years by Triangle Access Broadcasting, they attested that EMF had not paid required application and regulatory fees for the translators. EMF countered that it paid the required application fees and is exempt from paying regulatory fees because it is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which the FCC agreed with. Metropolitan Management Corporation of Tennessees 1580 WNPZ Knoxville TN has entered a consent decree for compliance with the Public File Rule. Deletions The FCC deleted Omni Broadcastings 1480 WKGC Southport/Panama City FL after the agency inquired into the stations operating status. WKGCs license was listed as expiring on November 5, 2020 following one year of silence. The FCC states that after sending Omni owner Ron Hale a letter in December, they did not respond but filed a notice of resumption of operation without any explanation of the circumstances of resumption. After revoking that notice, the FCC gave two more attempts to provide the documentation they required, but none of which established that the station resumed operation timely. Iglesia Cristiana Ebenezers 90.1 KWEZ-FM Caney OK was deleted for being silent of 365 days. Self Retire Inc.s Homng Minority Radio 1600 Watertown MN and 3G Learning Solutions 88.7 KMKZ Red Feather Lakes CO were deleted for failing to timely file a license renewal application. More FM Changes Family Life Ministries applies for the move of its pending acquisition of Classic Rock 101 The Met 100.9 WMTT-FM Horseheads NY into the Ithaca market.
