Todays releases include Washington DC, Boston, Miami, Seattle, Detroit, Phoenix, Minneapolis, San Diego, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Denver, Baltimore, and St. Louis. All the numbers can be found at RadioInsight.com/Ratings. Public News/Talk 88.5 WAMU remains on top in Washington with a 9.7 to 10.2 gain. Hubbard News 103.5 WTOP drops 9.0 to 8.1 to remain in second. Howard University Adult RB 96.3 WHUR slips 8.1 to 7.8. iHeartMedia AC 97.1 WASH places fourth with a 6.2 to 5.6 slip, while Radio One Adult RB Majic 102.3/92.7 WMMJ/WDCJ rises 4.7 to 4.9. Most MLB flagship stations saw gains with the start of the season this month. Audacy Sports 106.7 The Fan WJFK-FM trends up 1.4 1.7 2.1. But the three current based music stations in the market continue to struggle, iHeartMedia CHR Hot 99.5 WIHT slips 3.6 to 3.1, Audacy Rhythmic CHR 95.5 WPGC drops 2.5 to 2.2, and Radio One Hip Hop 93.9 WKYS dips 2.2 to 2.0. Also trending downward is Radio One Gospel Praise 104.1 WPRS-FM (2.8 2.4 2.0). iHeartMedia CHR Kiss 108 WXKS-FM returns to the Boston lead with a 6.8 to 7.4 gain. Beasleys 98.5 The Sports Hub WBZ-FM holds in second steady at 6.9. Beasley Classic Hits 105.7 WROR drops 7.7 to 6.8 to fall to third. iHeartMedias duo of News/Talk 1030 WBZ (6.4 to 6.6) and Classic Rock 100.7 WZLX (6.1 to 5.7) round out the top five. Audacy Variety Hits Big 103 WBGB trends up 2.4 2.9 3.0, while Beasley Rhythmic Hot AC Hot 96.9 WBQT rises 2.2 2.6 2.9. Despite the fast start of the Red Sox, Audacy Sports 93.7 WEEI-FM was one of the few MLB flagships to not make significant gains as it only rose 3.0 to 3.2. Riviera Broadcastings 95.1/94.9 The Wow Factor KOAI continues to trend up 3.0 3.3 3.5. Riviera Hot AC Hot 97.5/103.9 KMVA/KZON also gets a 1.7 to 2.4 boost. Limbaughs show had aired in Bakersfield on Alpha Medias 1560 KNZR/97.7 KNZR-FM until the end of March when it was replaced by Salem Medias Dennis Prager Show. KERN will air Limbaugh in his usual 9am-12pm Pacific timeslot. Limbaugh will replace the final hour of Scott Cox morning show and Dana Loeschs syndicated show on the KERN schedule. American General Media’s Newstalk 1180 The New 96.1 KERN announced today the addition of “The Rush Limbaugh Show,” effective Monday, May 24. The station will air the program in the live 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. PT timeslot. “‘The Rush Limbaugh Show’ has always been the gold standard of talk radio,” said Robert Lewis, Regional Director of Operations Programming, KERN-AM. “Having the opportunity to add Rush’s wise words to our broadcast day was a very easy choice for KERN Radio.” Rush Limbaugh launched his phenomenally successful radio broadcast into national syndication on August 1, 1988, with 56 radio stations. Positioning as The Music You Just Cant Quit, the stations are now focusing on a Pop/Rock leaning playlist from the 1980s through 2000s. The biggest station to make the change was Variety Hits 99.9 Bob-FM CFWM Winnipeg, which was the first station in the format when it adopted the Bob branding in March 2002. Afternoon host Larry OConnor will move back to mornings as host of OConnor Company. OConnor joined WMAL as morning co-host in 2012, then added an additional 5-6pm solo show in 2014. Since January 2017, he has hosted afternoons from 3-6pm. As part of his move to mornings, OConnor will also give up the 10am-12pm Pacific show he has hosted for 790 KABC Los Angeles. Current morning host Vince Coglianese will move in the opposite direction to afternoons. Coglianese co-hosted mornings with Mary Walter from July 2017 until Walter announced her departure last week. The schedule change is timed to coincide with the launch of Cumulus new Dan Bongino Show in middays from 12-3pm replacing Rush Limbaugh on the stations lineup. Chris Plante remains in the 9am-12pm late morning slot. Donatelli replaces 103.7 KSON San Diegos Kimo Jensen on the multi-market morning show. Jensen will now host a local show for San Diego. Prior to Entercoms restructuring of its Country stations last September, Donatelli hosted afternoons at KFRG, while Froglear was in middays. Since the lineup restructuring, Donatelli has served as West Coast Region Digital Coordinator for Audacy as well as an overnight and weekend host at KFRG. |
