Default 50 Watt final/Cobra 29LTD Classic

Can I get some opinions on this. I have a 29 and I know of a tech here
in the area. Would this work out? I didn't even know that was possible
but was told that the 29 could accept a 50 watt final in it.

Would this be something I should look into? Would there be a heat
problem or a chance a frying something else because of the final?
Should a fan be added maybe?

When this type of 'surgery' is done on a 29 would there be a type of
clarifier for the final itself or would it be 50 watts all the time?
Thanks for any opinions or suggestions- I will check later today for
responses.

Do you mean a 50 watt carrier (200 watts PEP) or 12.5 watts carrier
(50 watt PEP)? AM has a 4 to 1 peak to carrier ratio.

He has to mean that. Otherwise, the radio is not cut out for that.

I would imagine from the numbers above it would be the second one.
Would this be an OK add on to the 29? Would there be a noticeable
difference on someones receive end?
