| Even if you convert the final stage to

|
|Ive heard it's not a good idea to switch the tubes.
|
|---------------------

If you know what y ou are dong the conversion can be done. Today there
are not a lot of amature operators well schooled in tube theory. The
biggest issue is matching filament votages and currents. Some
transcievers and transmitters will put the final fillaments in series
with other tubes. Drake dows this with their TR4 and T4X units. I had
to strap a large wattage resistor over the filaments to balance
current.

I did a conversion on a Drake T4X to 6146Bs and the biggest issue I
had was keeping the final stage nuetralized on 10M. I ended up
regulating the screen voltage down to about 150VDC from the 250VDC the
6JB6s ran at. That helped a bunch. The drop in output was not a major
concern. Still was able to get 80W on 10M. The HA10 really only needs
about 50 W drive. Also modified the T4X so that I could bypass the
finals and drive an NCL2000. Now that is a nice amp.

james

Yeah there you go James sounds like a plan. This old 30L1 seems to get
along with most anything I've tried, 70-100w in..I use an arb-704 buffer
when I run it with a transistor rig.

Why would he???:? Otherwise, how's it going Lad??

Why would he what? Could be better. Manchester United lost in the FA
Cup today after out playing a lesser team. Bahhhhhhhhhh...

Ship the antenna, much better for people to meet each other, get an
idea who you're dealing with. AAAhhhhh, football (what's know as the
real football world wide), I'm geared up for NASCAR this year and
counting the days before baseball starts.

Listen bro, if I'm going to ship Steve my Jogunn I dont need to meet the
fooker. As a matter of fact I may be heading his way in June as long
as the snow melts by then hehehe

Snow!? We only had 18 inches over the weekend. :P
Cedar point? Hey I'm afraid of that 5+5 now that you told me about that
rope support. That may be bigger than I want...(?)

18' long by about 12' high. The height is measured from the top of the
verticle to the bottom of what would one call a horizontal. |

Qsk on the Gizmotchy design. The 5+5 star has rope strung across the top to
keep the ends from drooping tho, right?
