My dad bequeathed to me a "Sears RoadTalker 40" from the late 70s. Now I KNOW Sears didn't make it, but who did? I have one friend here on the net who says it may have been made by Midland, but he wasn't sure of the model number. It works well, 5 mile range on flat desert. Has a nifty "ALERT" light that lit when my antenna was loose. Has a super-fancy-get-outta-town automatic channel number dimmer! Hey, now THAT's useful, how could anyone get along without an auto dimmer! It's big ugly and chrome, with a little horizontal meter on the left upper corner. Have you seen this rig? Do you recognize it from a bygone era or perhaps the back of a milk carton? If so, please mail me. I'd like to know who REALLY made this dinosaur of mine. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Kelton Rhoads 602/350-9462 Dept of Social Psychology, Az State Univ ------------------------------------------------------------------- Hitachi made most of their CB line. |
