**** you akc. g

the ng has been dumb'd down steve. its surprising no one jacks the
spammers here.
jay and jim upstate usually have something to contribute technically
but wisely bail when the crap starts flying.
frank is another but has a sh*t dont stink attitude.
could you tell me who are george, leland and doug. it seems without them
braying it is quite quiet here.

Well Jim I'll disagree a little. Frank's sh#t stinks
as much as anyone else, it's the arrogant attitude on I know
more than you, no matter what, IMHO.

Landshark

maybe so shark but he does post relevant info concerning the hobby. you
have
to admit its better than the flames.

Look back at past posts I've made about Frank.
I've said a dozen or more times, that when Frank talks
about CB radio, I usually don't disagree, as with his
political views, again I usually don't disagree.
But when I have disagreed, it usually will end up with
him throwing out some sort of insult, instead of just
disagreeing.

See below.

Look at the posts that Dave & I had, were there insults
thrown out? No! Did we agree on most of what we talked
about? Yes! Did we disagree about some things? Yes!
But it did not end with insults being thrown at each other.
I saw his post in a response and this seemed pretty
poignant:

"But I really don't care because this isn't a popularity
contest, and I don't have any desire to socialize with semi-literate
rednecks who think life revolves around beer, CB radio, porno videos
and "professional" wrestling (and no, I don't mean everyone is like
that)."

Notice the last line -- particularly the part in parentheses: "I don't
mean everyone is like that". Now read your response:

What's your IQ Jim? I know what mine is and guess what?
It's a lot higher than Frank seems to think mine and I'm sure
a lot of others. Mopar is an owner of his own business with
multiple employees, I think he's got some smarts. I've talked
with you lot's of times, I wouldn't think of you as "redneck".
The truth is, he says he an EE, by what he's said here I
would believe it, but his broad statement above makes no sense
if he is as smart as he says.

And you wonder why I will sometimes respond with an insult. Well,
Shark, it's because sometimes you (and others) read only what you want
to read and skip the rest even if it's relevant. I do the same thing
myself on occasion, but the difference is that when my mistake is
brought to my attention I will accept the fault and apologize
(assuming I don't catch it myself and correct it before anyone
responds). OTOH, you don't correct your mistakes -- you just whine
about me making insults.

And if you want examples of both I am perfectly willing to swim
through google and find some.

He knows no more about my education any more than I his
or for that fact anyone's else's on this board,....

I know nothing of your education, Shark. You could have a Ph.D. or be
a third-grade dropout, I don't know and I don't care. But when you
start crying about posts that you don't even fully comprehend or that
you read with your own interpretation, I tend to lean in the direction
of 'third-grade dropout'.

.... so my point is
that just because someone types something that either you don't
like or makes no sense to you, doesn't mean that they are a
"semi-literate rednecks who think life revolves around beer, CB radio, porno
videos and "professional" wrestling"

I'll invoke creative license on the description, but my point should
be obvious.

As he said:
"I don't think I'm such a bad guy -- I just take my RF seriously, my
discussions logically, my coffee black and my Tequila straight. If
that doesn't sit well with anyone else, that's their problem."

If that is true, I'd bet he would have a great time with I and Mopar
and a couple of others here.

It might just happen, but only if you can agree that the merits and
personal satisfaction of operating legally outweighs the fleeting rush
of being a 'bad-boy on the band'.

I don't take my RF seriously, It's not my line of work. I do take
my work seriously,

See? We -do- have something in common!

my coffee from his state sponsor (Starbucks),

Yuppie-juice.

my Tequila is Petron,

Never heard of it. The name sounds like an oil company.

but I usually drink beer, not hard liquor.

Beer. Interesting fluid. Looks like ****, smells like ****, ends up as
****. What's next -- soylent green?

Gave it up in 1976.

Kind of a bizarre movie though, makes you wonder what's
in a Granola bar

I guess your right Mopar. I think Frank's post was a kind
of "this what I am" that's fine, I can accept that, but can he
accept that we are what we are?
If this is some sort of olive branch, I and I hope others can
accept that from him too.

Most true happiness comes
from one's inner life, from the
disposition of the mind and soul.
Admittedly, a good inner life is
hard to achieve, especially in
these trying times. It takes
reflection and contemplation
and self-discipline.
