top posting is when you put your reply at the top of the msg instead of
below it like I am doing right here.

Top posting means that people have to scroll down to see what you are
replying to, and then back up to read your reply so it all makes sense.

Most usenet groups with a charter and FAQ are violently against top
posting, as are most of the experienced usenet users.

Any uncertified (this means power mics too!)device that causes more than 100
% AM modulation on TX is illegal on CB. You can have it but you can't
operate with it.
Roger beeps were not around when the rules were made.
They are not used to continue or maintain a QSO. Very primitive tone
encode/decode
sytems were tried by several manufacturers but nothing stuck.

Are you saying power mics need certified to be legal or are you claiming
all power mics cause more than 100% modulation and are therefore,
illegal? Because,,,,you're wrong. Power mics are as legal as roger
beeps.

You can have it but you can't operate with it.

One can use all power mics and roger beeps they wish.

Roger beeps were not around when the rules

were made.

Irrelevant. Power mics are legal and so are roger beeps. If the feds
meant for these to be illegal, they would have adopted and updated the
rules, just as they do in other rule areas each and every year.

They are not used to continue or maintain a

QSO.

Sure they are, in many, many, many instances.
In fact, that is their primary use and for which they were designed.

Very primitive tone encode/decode

sytems were tried by several manufacturers

but nothing stuck.

By speaking of roger beeps, most people mean it to encompass roger
beeps, k beeps, and any other tone that signals the beginning or end of
transmission, and many of them "stuck",,,which is why the beeps are
still sold today on many radios and mics.
