How many acres steve?

Only two acres that are cleared and level enough for motorhomes.

Hey Jim, if we end up going to Kentucky you can fly over to Cleveland
Hopkins and I'll pick you up. Then you and I will drag my RV down
there from here, and you'll have a place to stay. Good?

you got it. i was debating driving or flying. if the offers there then
flying is the way to go.

Yep, it wouldn't make much sense for you to drive is we're south bound,
unless we're hotel bound. I have room for you here and in my travel
trailer. All'z you need to do is put in for vacation and watch the super
duper airfare saver's.

I'll even let you talk on your old 2510 on the way down!

ps..that offer stands for the Bristol Nascar race too.

Bzzzt...we were both wrong. Although, given bad information. The messenger
800 has 1 1446 driving 8 454's.

That *should* be a good amp:-)

Hello All:

Ok the SD1446 has a transistor case type 211-07, which shows the white
Pill part of the transistor to have a diameter of .370 inches, or real
close to 3/8 of an inch.

The 2SC2789 Transistors have a case type 211-11, which shows the white
pill part having a .5 inch diameter.

So if the Messenger Amp has white pills approx .370 or 3/8 inch in
diameter, I'd go for it. That would indicate that it would be using the
good design of the SD1446 Transistors.

Well 2789's have roughly twice the rms of 1446's. So if it is an 8 pill

easily be wrong.

Hello Abraham:

I would lift or unsolder one of the ends and see the number.

Maybe M Tech is correct. But I know for a fact that the 4 and 8 pill
Messenger amps that had the 2SC2789 in them where and are dogs. Low
output, from a poor design.

How do I find out which pills it has in it?? The numbers on the pills

Hello Abraham:

If it has the 2SC2789 transistors in it, I would pass.

If it has the SD1446 Transistors in it, yeah sure.

After some research...I'd say it's a "good amp". Without knowing
age/condition, 400 sounds a little high. A better price would be 250-300.

I can't see it pushing 800 watts either. Maybe good for 600-650.

Hope that helps:-)

Hello Don M-Tech:

Yes I think your right! Yes you are.

So that throws out the SD1446 pill diameter of .370 to .380 inches,
comparison method.

Because both the 2SC2789 and MRF454 transistors use the 211-11
transistor case. Which has a .5 or 1/2 inch white pill diameter.

http://www.alldatasheet.com/datashee...LA/MRF454.html

Ok so back to un soldering the wire over the pill, to see what ya all got.

I am sorry, but I was so unimpressed with the Messenger 4 pill with the
2SC2789 transistors, it did only 320 watts while being driven with 35
watts. I hope those guys get it fixed.

I had the Messenger rewired and modified in a trade, the amp guy removed
the 4 ea 2SC2789, and installed 8 ea SD1446 transistors, and that amp
then kicked ass. I could now hear the 150 amp alternator start to slip
the belt on peaks, hehehehehehehe.

#44 says: (Curtsy is contagious)
If ya all is a coming to the BBQ and Dance Party, spending a few nights
at his ranch, please camp away from the main house, by a few hundred
feet, especially if you have dune buggies and dirt bikes. And please
only shoot away from the houses. The wind mill generator has enough
bullet holes in it from 44 gettin all liquirored up and shooting it him
self. And please no unsafe and insaine fire works. Ok well maybe just a
few. (just passing it on here!)

Bring a main dish and a side dish, and a few drinks. Call 44 or give him
a yell on 12, or 435, or the SSSS channel. To coordinate the eats and
drinks. But it should be pretty well handled by now.

Camp fires are allowed, but he doesn't need a barn burner, and bring
your own wood. As steve uses his wood to heat his house in the cold
windy winter, a curtsy call here.

Shottin skip and talkin on the radio is ok, but be nice. 44 just had new
carpets put in, so please take off your shoes at the door. 44 will have
the "Super Crusader 7" element yagi up and runnin.

http://www.cbradiotalk.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=933

One other thing 44 pass's on, trash cans will be placed all over so the
he doesn't need 4.8 billion empties and trash all over the place.

well thanks to everybody who posted. I talked the guy down to 325 and
got it, without knowing what pills it had inside. I guess its time to
unsolder the wire over the pills huh, im gonna cross my fingers.. it
does have the .5" pills though.. so Im hoping for the 454's. If not,
well theres always Ebay..Im sure someone will want it there huh.

Thanks
