Unscrew bottom cover.
Locate RV2 pot and turn to substantially increase both modulation and TX power swing. Find coil RFC5, spread moderately to gain some TX power. Locate L201, a sealed coil and core. Since the core cannot be adjusted, force two (2) loops of the coil over the core to increase TX power. Find L202, compress this coil as much as possible to gain TX power. Locate L203, spread coil dramatically and bend into a semi-circular arc to increase its length. This will increase TX power. RESULTS: Stock Radio TX was 4.5 watts swinging to 6 watts. After mods, TX was up to 7.5 watts swinging to 15+ watts with a stock microphone. No bird meter, so the output power stated here is somewhat exaggerated. |

It'll also bleed over like a bitch. Some of those coils you're
spreading and compressing are part of the output filter. It's not "real" power you're gaining, it's the undesired signals that are now being allowed out of the TX chain. 4 watts on one channel is alot louder than 20 watts on all 40 at once. -SSB N8WWM wrote: Unscrew bottom cover.
