Default >>>Lack of SWR adjustment on the IMAXX 2000<<<

The antenna seems to be alittle short for pure CB purposes. I get a
1.1:1 match at 27.750, and a 1.5:1 match at 26.965. No matter how
much I turn the rings, the SWR changes only a little.
Has anyone experimented with putting a different top whip on this
antenna? A 102" whip would add 8" of length, thus bringing my SWR
curve down to 1:1 on channel 1. In theory, it should work.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over that match... 1.5:1 is perfectly
acceptable... and not worth the effort to reduce further.

Both my hr2510 & Magnum recommend 1.5 or less, plus I bought a big
fat linear amplifier. my super bigstick adjusted down to 1:1, and I
made a homebrew 11m yagi that I got a 1:1 match. We used to put PAL
Firesticks on top of Big Sticks to get better bandwidth. Cause once I
go below channel 1, the match goes close to 2:1.

Lance, 8 inches more not 8 feet, hehehe.

I can't wait to key down my big fat 600 watt amplifier, that I bought
off of ebay. I am going to crank up my modulation so that I splash
all over the place. Once I get it were I like it, I am going to step
on all those gay ham radio op's on the ten meter band. God, life is
good.

3's and 8's, and don't forget your roller skates
