Demonstrate a bit more, if you would, this subject of debate of which you continue embarrass yourself. Tell us more of -your- college that -you- invoked that taught you such intelligent debate tactics. and frequent confinements to mental institutions You know nothing of debate, which -was- your original attempted regurgitation. To think you knew something else is to be expected. To ask another to believe you know something after such witty examples of intellect, well, that would be expected of you as well. and dependence on psychiatric drugs (which are not working) should be a barrier to you being issued a license... John Frequent confinements? What makes you think I got out? "Either way", if your communication deficit wasn't roaring its ugly head and using your ego as its whippin' boy, you would retain what you read in this group. But you can't, as you have more than demonstrated. No drugs or alcohol or red meat or tobacco shall corrupt my bodily temple. For daily guidance and strength, I need only look to your kind quotes and posts for the instant realization of how gifted and blessed I truly am. By comparison, of course. Just want to make sure you can continue follow. .. |

Anger? Absolutely. When you introduced personal insult as a means to convey your feelings, it was a knee-jerk response to feelings of anger or low self-esteem. Have it your way, it's the latter, then. By the time (if) you finish this college you felt impotant enough to invoke, you will learn such things. Insult has no place in debate. Next time, know a little more of your subject before you slap yourself for other's benefit. You fail to see satire and irony when you read it, you don't recognize "dry humor?"... Satire is not laced with direct insult, nor is dry humor. Your first claim that you knew something of debate embarrassed you and you were pardoned when you demonstrated ignorance arrived by your insult. Fine. Tits up for you topping that with your incorrect interpretations of satire and dry humor. Satirists don't directly insult, as they have no need. They understand the subtle implications of their work and the generally educated public can correctly infer such from their work. But you, man, you brilliantly demonstrated not only a most unsound description, but a through misinterpretation of both satire -and- debate. ... you really think I take you as anything more than the silliest of jokes? That is exactly what you did by attempting to invoke -your- college. You did so in a most serious attempt, but since you totally embarrassed yourself with such a failed example, you now wish to claim it a joke. Agreed. With such an example of debate from you, a joke is what the educated interpret such as. Common guy (or girl, or it), sit down the opium pipe and step away into the light... John So out of anger or low self-esteem, you have demonstrated and chosen an unhealthy preoccupation for speaking of both drugs and this mother complex you brought to the group. Please try and understand that your needs can be better met by someone who cares for you. "I AmnotGeorgeBush" wrote in message ... From: (John Smith) Jim: At my college, the "flames" here wouldn't even make a pimple on a good debaters A$$. You know nothing of debate, as your posts attest. They are made in haste and anger. Your insults should be left at the door. Of course, people in college familiar with debate already know this. Not to be confused with the actual A$$'s here, Right on cue. Thank you for the brilliance shared. John |

There is no need to have any test for CW. The use of it will stand or
fall on it's own merits without any artificial boost due to testing requirements. CW will never die out completely, like classic cars, somebody will always have an interest in it. Regards, Leland C. Scott KC8LDO _ One may substitute the word "hammie radio" for "CW" in your post and the validity remains. |

It took me two weeks to go from start to passing my code test, and I don't even like Morse code. When I passed my 13 wpm test I was proud of my ham license, because I had to work for it. There is no pride in being a CB'er, because you don't have to earn it. I'd like to see the code requirement go back to 13 wpm for HF access. It separates those that want to be hams from those that just think they want to be hams. -Ham since 1986. -CBer since 1975 |

When it's all said and done, nothing gets through the air like code.
Nothing. |
