Hello. I am planning on an extra long road trip through Wyoming

some

overprotective people (that I love) that it can be done solo.

I don't have a cb, but am considering getting one for the journey.

Does anyone know if there are listeners out there in case of a car
breakdown, etc? It would help ease their mind.

Thanks!!

I don't know about the more populated areas of the US, but if a woman
driving alone in the inland NW calls for help on a CB she better be on
the Interstate or have a shotgun. Otherwise it's just an invitation to
get raped. Even some of the major state highways can have little or no
traffic on them for hours, and it's a long walk to any civilized
outpost.

AAA is fantastic -- should be required by law!

Some of them are living an illusion
Bounded by the darkness of their minds,
In their eyes it's nation against nation,
With racial pride, sad hearts they hide,
Thinking only of themselves,
They shun the light,
They think they're right
Living in the empty shells.

Since when does having a CB preclude you from having those too?

Hello, Mopar

You make a good point. Having a cb, cell phone, and amateur radio
isn't all that bad an idea. As with computers, backup, backup, backup!

No doubt. A friend of mine uses them for all kinds of crazy stuff, he's
even used them for towing his snow-plow truck. All he does is take the plow
off first. They're a good source for directions too.

used them twice in the past 9 years or so and its a service people would
be stupid to ignore. during the recent trip to oak ridge it was
comforting to know they were there.
