Default Your fuel prices

While you guys in the USA are thinking about petrol soon to be $6 a gallon
have a thought for us poor brits..
I just paid £1 a litre today. Taking into account theres nigh on 4.5 litres
in a gallon..

4.50 GBP
United Kingdom Pounds = 8.28851 USD
United States Dollars
1 GBP = 1.84189 USD 1 USD = 0.542920 GBP

That makes our fuel at $8.29 now... not in the future (

Bet that makes you feel better...lol

Now would be a great time for Bush to make a executive order to suspend all
federal fuel tax and start drilling off shore here in Ca and start in
Alaska.
This would really help stop this crazy ness.
The answer Cleary is supply side. This is America fuel should and could be
under 1.00 a gallon if we can get the politicians out of it.

Im not sure when it was, maybe mid to late 70's we brits were happy with our
new north sea oil find and everything was going to be cheaper and things
would be rosy... i dont know what happened there but the prices never went
down.. only up... and up....... and up. Most of our charge as with probably
a lot of yours is the government taking a whopping huge chunk in VAT.
What is this sh*t with VAT anyway... we pay it when we earn it.. we pay it
when we need to buy something with it... we pay some when we try to save it
and when you sell something you no longer need your expected to declair it
and pay it again. Then if you die...and so on and so on.... theiving
b*&terds have always got their hands in your pockets (

judging by the size of the cars and lorries in the uk the miles per
gallon should be higher than the behemoths that travel the us' roads.

I agree the US has a lot of gas guzzling vehicals but UK has a fair few too.
That said, theres no reason why you guys couldnt use more economical cars.
Personally i drive a Ford Granada 2.5 scorpio turbo and wouldnt feel safe in
anything smaller, at least theres some metal around you to protect you in an
average collision. Theres some pretty big 4x4's about too. That said our
prices have gone up and up with the pretence of "cutting back on emissions
to save the environment" then they go to war and put tons more pollutants in
the air.... and blow thousands of people to smithereens... Absolutely
bonkers

Things don't seem to be all the different do they. We are plagued with same
type of lack of leadership here as well and hence the same problems arise. I
never agreed with the "cutting back on emissions to save the environment"
That's just more garbage.
Personally I buy the size I need in a vehicle and the nicest I am willing to
pay for.
I don't own any thing with status attached to it. But that's just me. We all
spend our money on what has value to us and I am no different.
Government is so big here that I am not sure things could ever go back to
common sense.
In the mean time we just buy fuel with our debit cards. That way it does not
hurt so bad. Was that planned ?
Best regards, Dan
