Does anyone have this radio? There are two PC programs that I'm
familiar with that can make this radio more enjoyable (FT-817
Commander and Ham Radio Deluxe). It has a 5 watt output on SSB and a
1.5 carrier on AM. All mode. This isn't a CB, but I thought someone
here may have it, and may have something to say about it!

I have one. It's a neat radio, about the size of large paperback book and
all mode too. If I'm staying some place for several days, mainly hotel
rooms, I've used it. I does make a great mobile rig, take along a mobile
mag mount antenna and plug the rig in the lighter outlet in the rental
car. It's also fun to switch over to the air band and monitor the comm's
while wasting time at the airport for a flight too. People see a weird
looking radio like that and they can't help but look. So far the TSA guys
at the airport haven't been too excited about seeing it in the briefcase,
they seem to be mainly interested in seeing if my laptop explodes. go
figure.
