Pardon my ignorance, but what is a 8719 PLL chip and what does it do. Thanks
for any replies.

Click on "Projects" then "Synthesizer circuits". Then click on "Synth
basics" on the left side menu.

This is a brief tutorial on PLL's. This should answer some of your
questions.

PLL for Phase lock loop. In the late 1970's, the PLL was able to replace
crystals for changing CB frequencies.


The 8719 is one of the versions of it.
