Take it to a shop for a proper factory alignment. Someone must have
tried a hack tune up job and now it needs to be reset to normal.

Default Help! Problem with 148 GTL

Hi. Thanks for your responce. I thought that might be the problem. I
don't trust any of the repair folks in my area. I use to do my own
alignments years ago with goog results but I since sold all my Sams.
Would anyone know the correct pots for this adjustments or does anyone
have that Sams for my 148 that they can send me scanned copies of the
alignment pages or sell me that Sams. Thanks for your time, Jean.

Sounds like your PLL is quitting. Someone has probably (by mistake)
tuned one of the transformer inductors in the PLL circuit thinking that
it would increase power output. When the channels are changed... the
PLL frequency shifts... and if that circuit is not tuned properly...
the loop will stop oscillating. Hope that helps...
