Hi All. I just got a 148 and it has a problem. It transmits a receives
great from channel 22 thru 40 but below that it has weak receive and it transmits a little on 21 & 20 but no transmit from 19 thru 1. Please help. Thanks, Jean. |

Take it to a shop for a proper factory alignment. Someone must have tried a hack tune up job and now it needs to be reset to normal. |

Hi. Thanks for your responce. I thought that might be the problem. I
don't trust any of the repair folks in my area. I use to do my own alignments years ago with goog results but I since sold all my Sams. Would anyone know the correct pots for this adjustments or does anyone have that Sams for my 148 that they can send me scanned copies of the alignment pages or sell me that Sams. Sounds like your PLL is quitting. Someone has probably (by mistake)
tuned one of the transformer inductors in the PLL circuit thinking that it would increase power output. When the channels are changed... the PLL frequency shifts... and if that circuit is not tuned properly... the loop will stop oscillating. Hope that helps... |
