I used to CB a lot, I moved several times and finally got my Mark IV
out of storage the other day and it blew a resistor, R.302 but I can't tell the colors since is is burnt. Does anyone know the value of this resistor? I thought maybe a schematic, or I thought maybe selling it. What would you do? Dave in MO |

Otherwise check any caps that the resistor maybe connected to. The problem with a lot of those old radios that have sat for long periods are the electrtolytic caps are probably not very good anymore. Many radios of that vintage used carbon composition resisitors. They tend to absorb moisture and that causes them to lower their value. james |

Then learn to make simple wire dipole (468 over the freq, then divide by 2 for each leg) and get on the band of your choice. With the new rigs having automatic tuners you only need to be kind of close with your antenna. -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

Dr. D: Since I no longer have antenna, mikes, book, and it doesn't work, I checked them out on eBay and they went for $300 up for both units. Of course the working ones went for closer to $500 but $300 would do. They sure get the bids! I can see why. I love the feel and the look of them. Dave in MO |
