Well at least it has some 'style' to it, but I'm not real crazy about it. I do like the Dodge Magnum. I drove a few of them as rental cars. The only draw back to them is the view out the rear window, it's really small. The Pacifica is nice too if you like cross over SUV's. I was rather pleased with the room inside. You can get in the thing wearing a baseball type cap and not have it smashed up against the roof liner, which is one of my pet peeves with too many new cars, the lack of head room. Most new vehicles look like they got stamped out of the same mold, no imagination on the part of the styling department. Guess that's one reason why GM is getting boo's in that area. Years gone by you could tell at a distance what make and model of car it was, now you almost have to wait till it drives by to read the name plate to be sure. I think part of the appeal of the 'retro look' is the higher level of distinctive styling they have. Anyway I wonder if the new model will have the Hurst Pistol Grip shifter like the original? That was a nice shifter to use. I don't much care for the Tee-Handle type or the Slap-Stick with the ball and button on the top either. You really need a good grip to shift the manual transmission in the winter on the original model. The grease was so thick you almost had to use two hands till the transmission warmed up. I use to let the thing idle in neutral for 5 minutes to let the grease churn up a bit before trying to drive it. (fix your sig delimiter it's snipping most of your post over here) I use two or three different computers on my home network. I'll have to see which one is causing the problem. When I check my posts by reading them on the news server they have looked OK to me however. Regards, Leland C. Scott KC8LDO |

Same basic chassis, same basic motor, same basic swithgear, etc... And the article implys they aren't really competing with the Mustang and plan on selling "only" 30,000? Better than a K-car, I guess. Wah-waaahtt? |

I'm pretty sure they're offering the same levels they did in the Magnum, V8-wise. The aarticle suggests there will be no V6. I suspect the 4.7, 5.7 (Hemi), and then the big Hemi in the SRT8. A great engine, yeah, but they'd better serve it some serious wheaties if they want to keep up with the Cobra, and, they have to keep the price around 40k, too rich for my blood anyway. ;-) -- http://NewsReader.Com/ |

I like the lines and the 70's look on it, but I won't be buying one anytime soon either. Or a cobra for that matter. -- http://NewsReader.Com/ |
