I've got some used Kenwood TK2100 2 channel, 2 watt, VHF portables in
good condition for sale. They come with a good used battery and drop in charger. Currently programmed for MURS frequencies (custom programming available). Greater range then 1/2 watt FRS, especially outdoors. Nice loud audio, can be heard in noisy conditions. Only $59.95 each plus shipping. Volume discounts available. More details and photo available he http://mursradio.blogspot.com *These radios are legal for use on the MURS frequencies! |

Hello Doctor Death:
Yeah a little Spam of selling radio stuff ain't too bad. The VHF Hand Held Radios really work great, as compared to the FRS UHF 1/2 watt crap that is sold everywhere. I went Quail Hunting with a few guys, and we all dialed in 146.52 MHz the 2 meter national calling simplex frequency. Man that worked great. There where guys that tried the UHF FRS hand held radios and they didn't work as well as did the VHF Hand Held Radios. We even had a local break in, and tell us where the good Quail Hunting was, and what to look for. We invited him over to our camp for a few social cocktails and dinner. A good time was had. The local couldn't believe we made contact at ten miles on extreme low power. Must had a straight shot! Yeah even on Extreme Low Power the VHF Hand Held Radios worked way better than the FRS UHF Radios. Jay in the Mojave DrDeath wrote: wrote in message ps.com... Hello DrDeath:
Yeah the VHF hand held radios are way better call than those cheap **** communist FRS Toy type hand held radios. Last hunting trip one of the guys set up a VHF Base Antenna on a 30 foot mast, and we talked all over the place, on simplex 146.52 Mhz. We have more Quail then should be legal I think. I go hunting up around and near Granite Mountains. Running out of home plate Barstow California, on highway 40, getting off at Kelbaker Road, and heading north about 10 miles, theres usually a few who get there early and can radio ya in, if their not all liquirored up! Its pretty desolate out there, so if ya want to have something ya have to bring it. Its good exercise and keeps ya on your toes. One of the guys shot a Quail, and a Hawk picked it up before anyone could gather any thoughts about it. Pretty impressive. Jay in the Great Mojave Desert, ....just down the road ah ways from the fillin station. DrDeath wrote: Heya Jay. I've been contemplating buying one. Now I know to go VHF. Dr Death belives he has the right who may post what and that he has the right to controll the NG I'll apologize for the multiple posting. It was not intentional. I used Google's News Group poster and my first post wasn't acknowledged. My posts were sent to newsgroups who might actually want to see my ad. CB and MURS are both Part 95 Personal Radio Services. ![]() Anyway, yes, these radios are much better than FRS. VHF does travel better than UHF through the woods. The 4x increase in power and the use of a better, more sensitive receiver in this commercial radio combine and you get better range. If anyone is interested in a pair of these radios, I will discount for multiple purchases. Just send me an email directly. http://mursradio.blogspot.com |

A more things to know about the VHF Hand Held Radios:
Get a set of extra batteries, get the 12 volt charger cord, and ear piece / boom mic's. I didn't have the ear piece / Boom mic giznostic accessory do dad, so I had to take the radio out of my pocket to use it. Not good when hunting and trying to sneak up on illusive Birds that know when your coming. Jay in the Mojave |

If fact I'll give you a list to killfile all of his up to date nyms that he uses. I just pointed it out that you posted it twice, and as I generally killfile those that make it a regular habit to advertise products. Keeping your web address in your sig file while posting is more in keeping with Usenet courtesy and still gives the readers the option of viewing your products without having to spam. I hate having to killfile someone that otherwise may have something useful to add to the group. I'll probably be looking at some units in the near future, I have to get this tower project finished first. I can't seem to locate anyone local that sells pushup pole. |
