![]() DXNL 1525 - Jun 27, 2007 DX Newsletter a free and weekly service of DARC Committee "DX and HF contesting" (http://www.darcdxhf.de) editor: Helmut Schlaffer, DL7MAE (e-mail: ) translation by: Bob, DL7VOA (e-mail: ) HB0 - LIECHTENSTEIN Pierre,HB9QQ, will go on top of the Sareiserjoch in Malbun (2015m asl) from Jun 29 until Jul 2 and again from Jul 6-9. Pierre will be active as HB0/HB9QQ on HF, 6m, 2m and via meteor scatter. QSLs via HB9QQ. HL7 - SOUTH KOREA Since Mar 30 HL7WR is handing out the prefix HL7 for the first time on the bands (until Jul 2). This special event station has been put up for the "World Rafting Championships 2007" (http://www.2007wrc.com) which takes place in Sangdong-Ri/Inje from Jun 27 until Jul 2. HL7WR is working in SSB/CW/FM/digital modes on 80-6m. The QSL Manager DS2UAL confirms the QSLs direct or via the bureau. HZ - SAUDI-ARABIA After the deregulation of amateur radio there are about 100 licensed amateurs in Saudia-Arabia now. Class 1 licensees (HF and VHF) are using the prefixes HZ1 or 7Z1, HZ2 stations have licenses class 2 (VHF only). They are also allowed to work on HF when using the station of a license class 1 holder. Operation on 6m, 30m and 80m is not allowed in Saudi- Arabia. If you have worked 7Z1AB, HZ1AB, HZ1HZ or members of the royal family in former times you do not have to worry about your DXCC credit because these stations had a special permission until 2004. The same applies to 7Z5OO who was working as a private teacher for the royal family and had a special license as well. Only few HAMs are really active on the bands but most of them are foreign nationals. There is no amateur radio society or a QSL bureau in Saudi-Arabia.
