Unfortunately, I couldn't meet up with any Amateurs for courses or to learn the ropes (none on the island), so I just did the study thing. I decided that the Foundation license would be too limiting for a remote area, so I went straight to the Standard license (100W). I have purchased a FT DX1200 which is still 6,000klms away. Still working out the QSL thing, international mail from here is $2.90 AUD and mail can take a while.
