![]() KB6NU's Ham Radio Blog /////////////////////////////////////////// Speaking again at Dayton Posted: 26 Mar 2017 02:36 PM PDT http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/kb6nu...m_medium=email Yours truly teaching a one-day Tech classÂ*at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum. The folks at the Dayton Hamvention have once again graciously accepted my proposal to speak at Dayton this year. My talk will take placeÂ*at 9:15 am on Friday, May 19, in room 4 at the new venue. This time I wont be talking about CW as I did last year, but instead about teaching one-day Tech classes. The title of the talk is, Teach a One-Day Tech Class and Help People Have Fun with Ham Radio. In the talk, I plan to cover the following: Why teach a one-day class instead of a more traditional, multi-session class? Where can you hold the class? How toÂ*publicize the class, i.e. put butts in seats? Should you charge for the class or offer it for free? What is a good text to use for the class? What are some good teaching techniques? What are some ways to follow up with students? Im basically going to cover the information in my blog post, Teaching a one-day Tech class, but would love to also include others experiences as well. If any of you have taught one-day Tech classes, Id love to hear from you as to what worked and what didnt, so that I can add this information to my talk. Jason, KC5HWB, of HamRadio 2.0 fame, will be recording the talk. So stay tuned for information on that, if you cant make it at Dayton.
