I have just briefly read some technical background on RFIDs and I find it
rather disturbing that a lot of the transmitters that potentially will be
used in this new trend will operate on shortwave frequencies (e.g. 13.56 Mhz
was mentioned in one of the specs).

Will these things be licensed by the FCC or other telecom regulators as low
power devices? There will be millions of these things flying around in the
future, so I wonder whether this might potentially be sich a threat to the
shortwave spectrum as BPL/PLC is too.
