This message is to anyone that may have worked station K8CPA in the past.
as of now, Station K8CPA will QSL DX via E-QSL or Direct. USA contacts who send a SASE will get a card promptly.. I don't need the headaches of the ARRL's incoming QSL burro. I did recieve my cards, thanks to N8CXQ for sending them on HIS dime. as I am unemployed. I don't need the shoddy ARRL's burro... I don't liked being called a Liar by the Michigan Section Manager. I didn't vote for you, moron, nor your running mates. So, As of now, K8CPA is ONLY via e-qsl or direct, NO BURRO! 73 de K8CPA -Chuck |

and here's why, this is your ARRL! which of I refuse to join as well... they only care about thier membership, they do NOT care about the little guy, nor do they care about the unemployed. it's a business and that's all. who needs them... I depart the area for several .weeks and will not be answering anymore bureau correspondence .until I return. However, I meant what I said. You provided no data for .me to know what had transpired previously. I get many inquiries .about bureau status and do not maintain a file of past .correspondence, assuming you did send me something on this .previously. Since you said something about 11 months ago and I .was not the manager 11 months ago, my assumption is that we had .not corresponded before. Since I read your message as, "Where are .my cards?", I responded to the letter manager to send you anything .he had, including an empty envelope so you would know there was .nothing for you. The bureau is a service provided by volunteers. We .do the best we can to serve all amateurs with an 8 in their call. I understand your position, and I in no way wanted to start a ****ing contest... however, I do believe you were in the position you were in, and I remember e-mailing a while back, say 2-3 months ago, and asked where my cards where and all I got was, ZERO response from you or the person doing your job, and a bleeding heart plea from the Michigan section manager to join the ARRL. Which I have not the means to do, Nor do I have the interest in belonging to a organzation that puts the interest of the radio manufactures first and THEN the hams, if the ARRL is going to get my money, the good ol' boys, need to make alot of Changes in the way they handle things. But, that isn't the point here, the point is, my envalope just disappeared from sight, and no one seems to give a S### about it, or me, because, I'm not a member of the "Good ol' Boys Club", Well, that's fine, when my attorney contacts the "Boy's" in CT, we'll see who's gonna blow who off... :-) ..Now, lets examine your situation in a bit more depth. Sure. I'm good for a fight, no problem... ..FACTS: ..You received notification that you had cards at the bureau and no .envelopes on file. Yes, your doing good so far. ..You sent the requested envelope but did not receive your cards after ." x " amount of time. Yes, like 5 months... and I asked, and got the same ol' B.S. message and bleeding heart plea to join an organization. WHICH I DON'T HAVE THE MEANS TO DO SO, AT THE MOMENT AND REALLY DON'T CARE TO DO!!! and now, 11 months later, I ask again and get the same thing.... ..You made a query to someone, maybe me, about the status and .were informed that no one had seen your envelope Yes, and recieved no answer from the 8th area manager. and N8CXQ said he had not seen my envalope. What I wanna know is, where did it go??? Did you all even see it? ..Now, "y " time later, you send an email out of the blue asking if we .have received your envelope yet with no explanation of past history. ..You say you might need to send a new envelope via certified mail. ..You say you just want your cards, not an attitude I explaned my past history over and over and over and over and ALL I GET IS THE FLIPPING BLEEDING F'ING HEART PLEA TO JOIN THE ARRL, I DON'T WANT TO JOIN THE GODDAMNED ARRL, IF I DID I WOULD HAVE ALREADY DO SO, JUST SEND ME MY DAMN CARDS! WHY IN THE HELL IS IT SO FLIPPING HARD FOR YOU PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THIS, MY ENVALOPE GOT LOST. CAN'T YOU PEOPLE JUST PICK UP ANOTHER ENVALOPE AND PUT A FEW STAMPS ON IT AND SEND MY CARDS TO ME?????!?!?!?!?!?!?!? IS IT THAT SO HARD?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I hate to start swearing, but I can't seem to get anyone to understand anything, it's like dealing with a bunch of damn retards! ..RESPONSE: ..If you really wanted your cards why didn't you have envelopes on file .before you were notified? Simple. Money issues! ever think that there is people out that, that CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE CARDS ON FILE???? HUH? NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT DID YOU???? ..No mention is made of timing between when you were notified and .when you responded. - If you did not respond within 90 days there is .a fair chance your cards were returned or destroyed before an .envelope arrived. I responded right away, this isn't the issue, the issue is you guys LOST my envalope or tossed it in the trash, because you all got a axe to grind with me, because I happen to think the Michigan section is run by a bunch of LIDS, NO-CODE Idiots, and you all know this and wanna give me a hard time. well, fine, do it, but when my attorney gets done with you all, there won't be a ARRL! ..If the timing was sufficient between when you sent the envelope and .you were told it had not arrived, why did you not assume it was lost in .the process someplace and that you needed to send another .envelope then? again, MONEY ISSUES! I'm out of work, and I had to barrow money from my parents. is that a good enough answer for you? ..If you think I have an attitude, I appologize. I put in over 8 hours a Yeah, yeah, yeah.... don't patronize me with your crap. just get me my cards or I'll sue the league in court. ..week doing bureau business. For this I receive nothing except .reimbursement for direct out-of-pocket expenses and grief from .people complaining that we are not meeting their .needs/wants/desires/expectations. Well, cry me river guy, if you can't handle the position then quit and let someone else do it. ..What do you do for the hobby? I operate. good enough for me, and honestly, I don't have an interest in the league. too many idiots in power. ..If you choose to send a new envelope to the central bureau via .certified mail, it will only sit at the post office until I return. It will not .be sent to your letter manager until the next cycle mailing which will .probably be in May, as I am attempting to get a mailing to them .before I leave this week. (Do they hold certified mail for 2 plus .weeks?) You may send direcly to your letter manager. Well, the way I see you all owe me a 2.65 for the postage you all tossed in the trash can, and for the envalopes sent to N8CXQ, that never made it. That makes like 3.50 or so... it's a small amout, I know, but it's the point... you all lost my stuff, and even if you didn't couldn't you all just grab a envalope and put some stamps on it and send it, on your guys dime? or is the league that broke? Hmmmmm... ..I sincerely am not trying to be mean-spirited or display an attitude. could have fooled me. ..I will not enter into a spitting contest with you. I won't either, but if my cards aren't in my hands in the next 7 days, my attorney will be contacting someone at the league. I'm tired of being lied to, and being put off. ..I will not respond to any further correspondence with you until I return .in mid-April. Our desire is to deliver bureau cars in as timely a .manner as should be expected for bureau cards. To do this we need .your cooperation and you need ours. I pledge ours. Part of what is .expected from you is that we not have to chase you down to remind .you that you need to send us envelopes. Well, I got a life membership back in the seventies. With the
increase in cost of annual membership, I'm way in the black (like *way* in the black) on it. But, I now believe that they don't really care about their members. Their focus demonstrates that to me. Your membership should include services like WAS certificates, DXCC, etc.. Now, they charge for it. What's the point of being a member? Their focus seems to be on getting more hams on here and they don't consider the cost to amateur radio of getting people on ham radio who really haven't developed the skills to be a good ham operator. I realize that the code is out of date, but it helped screen out the ones who just wanted to buy the privilege of operating and not earn it. Just doing away with the code isn't the answer. We need to rethink the process and make sure someone doesn't get a license just by passing a test to get a 'learner's permit' and then they get all the privileges everyone else had to work for. I got my extra in 1990 and I'm proud to say that I passed all the elements of the exams. It's too bad these new amateurs can't say that they all earned the privilege of operating on the amateur bands. But, I don't feel that anyone with vision is in control of ham radio. It's sad but true. ARRL has never had a vision as far as I am concerned. And now they are coming out with the 'Novice license'. They just got through trimming the number of license classes and they want to create it so that they don't really have to move up to spread their wings. The original Novice limited you primarily to limited code bands and you had incentive to move up through the ranks. I don't think that this one will do that. It is a scam calling it a 'Novice' license. Amateur Radio sure has changed. A few years ago, I was at a silent auction of amateur radio equipment at a radio club meeting in Maryland. One of the items being auctioned was an old VTVM (vacuum tube volt meter). I was explaining to everyone there what the purpose of a VTVM was over a VOM (volt ohm meter) when I was interupted by one of the club members who said, "But, that's technical". I must say that it really turned me off. 73, Fred, WB4AEJ http://www.wb4aej.com/hamdomain On 26 Mar 2004 19:00:52 GMT, ojunk (NIW) wrote: as of now, Station K8CPA will QSL DX via E-QSL or Direct. and here's why, this is your ARRL! which of I refuse to join as well... they only care about thier membership, they do NOT care about the little guy, nor do they care about the unemployed. it's a business and that's all. who needs them... :-) .Now, lets examine your situation in a bit more depth. Sure. I'm good for a fight, no problem... .FACTS: .You received notification that you had cards at the bureau and no .envelopes on file. Yes, your doing good so far. .You sent the requested envelope but did not receive your cards after ." x " amount of time. Yes, like 5 months... and I asked, and got the same ol' B.S. message and bleeding heart plea to join an organization. WHICH I DON'T HAVE THE MEANS TO DO SO, AT THE MOMENT AND REALLY DON'T CARE TO DO!!! and now, 11 months later, I ask again and get the same thing.... .You made a query to someone, maybe me, about the status and .were informed that no one had seen your envelope Yes, and recieved no answer from the 8th area manager. and N8CXQ said he had not seen my envalope. What I wanna know is, where did it go??? Did you all even see it? .Now, "y " time later, you send an email out of the blue asking if we .have received your envelope yet with no explanation of past history. .You say you might need to send a new envelope via certified mail. .You say you just want your cards, not an attitude I explaned my past history over and over and over and over and ALL I GET IS THE FLIPPING BLEEDING F'ING HEART PLEA TO JOIN THE ARRL, I DON'T WANT TO JOIN THE GODDAMNED ARRL, IF I DID I WOULD HAVE ALREADY DO SO, JUST SEND ME MY DAMN CARDS! I hate to start swearing, but I can't seem to get anyone to understand anything, it's like dealing with a bunch of damn retards! .RESPONSE: .If you really wanted your cards why didn't you have envelopes on file .before you were notified? Simple. Money issues! ever think that there is people out that, that CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE CARDS ON FILE???? HUH? NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT DID YOU???? .No mention is made of timing between when you were notified and .when you responded. - If you did not respond within 90 days there is .a fair chance your cards were returned or destroyed before an .envelope arrived. I responded right away, this isn't the issue, the issue is you guys LOST my envalope or tossed it in the trash, because you all got a axe to grind with me, because I happen to think the Michigan section is run by a bunch of LIDS, NO-CODE Idiots, and you all know this and wanna give me a hard time. well, fine, do it, but when my attorney gets done with you all, there won't be a ARRL! .If the timing was sufficient between when you sent the envelope and .you were told it had not arrived, why did you not assume it was lost in .the process someplace and that you needed to send another .envelope then? again, MONEY ISSUES! I'm out of work, and I had to barrow money from my parents. is that a good enough answer for you? .If you think I have an attitude, I appologize. I put in over 8 hours a Yeah, yeah, yeah.... don't patronize me with your crap. just get me my cards or I'll sue the league in court. .week doing bureau business. For this I receive nothing except .reimbursement for direct out-of-pocket expenses and grief from .people complaining that we are not meeting their .needs/wants/desires/expectations. Well, cry me river guy, if you can't handle the position then quit and let someone else do it. .What do you do for the hobby? I operate. good enough for me, and honestly, I don't have an interest in the league. too many idiots in power. .If you choose to send a new envelope to the central bureau via .certified mail, it will only sit at the post office until I return. Hmmmmm... .I sincerely am not trying to be mean-spirited or display an attitude. could have fooled me. .I will not enter into a spitting contest with you. I won't either, but if my cards aren't in my hands in the next 7 days, my attorney will be contacting someone at the league. I'm tired of being lied to, and being put off. .I will not respond to any further correspondence with you until I return .in mid-April. Our desire is to deliver bureau cars in as timely a .manner as should be expected for bureau cards. To do this we need .your cooperation and you need ours. I pledge ours.
That makes like 3.50 or so... it's a small amout, I know, but it's the point... you all lost my stuff, and even if you didn't couldn't you all just grab a envalope and put some stamps on it and send it, on your guys dime? or is the league that broke? Hmmmmm... .I sincerely am not trying to be mean-spirited or display an attitude. could have fooled me. .I will not enter into a spitting contest with you. Part of what is .expected from you is that we not have to chase you down to remind .you that you need to send us envelopes. Well, you can BLOW ME OFF, like your pallys here in Michigan or you all can talk turkey. and send me my cards on your dime, seeing you all threw my stuff away. otherwise, my Lawyer will be in touch. .73, .Jay, K4ZLE Yeah, sure. -Chuck K8CPA ========== Received: from mallard.mail.pas.earthlink.net ([207.217.120.48]) by sccrmxc16.comcast.net (sccrmxc16) with ESMTP id 20040323200748s1600c4q69e; Tue, 23 Mar 2004 20:07:48 +0000 X-Originating-IP: [207.217.120.48] Received: from user240.net633.oh.sprint-hsd.net ([65.41.54.240] helo=MYCOMPUTER) by mallard.mail.pas.earthlink.net with esmtp (Exim 3.33 #1) id 1B5sBc-0000D3-00; Tue, 23 Mar 2004 12:07:45 -0800 From: "James Weaver" To: "'chuck'" Subject: Envalope Date: Tue, 23 Mar 2004 15:07:53 -0500 Organization: ARRL Message-ID: 003b01c41112$86fa2340$0100a8c0@MYCOMPUTER MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="----=_NextPart_000_003C_01C410E8.9E241B40" X-Priority: 3 (Normal) X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook, Build 10.0.4510 X-MIMEOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2800.1165 In-Reply-To: t Importance: Normal Whoa, Chuck, I'm not stalling. As a card sorter who frequently spends money out of pocket to keep folks
from receiving a postage due package of cards, I am delighted to hear that you as a freeloader have decided to opt out of the system. Apparently you have already opted out of other systems as well since you are apparently complaining that you are unemployed and want a free ride. Being quite close to Canada, perhaps you should consider moving. You can be unemployed in Canada pretty easily too, and then you can complain about their system instead of ours.
