Has anyone had any luck using a Kenwood SM220 with the BS-8 pan adapter
in the spectrum scope mode with a TS-850 or similar rig. Kenwood tells me it won't work and is not supported. Thanks, Dick Harper, N0USP |

Yes, it works fine. The one thing you're likely to see (which is
probably why Kenwood's none too eager for you to do it) is that the basic IF characteristics of the 850 are none too linear. If your rig is anything like mine, you'll probably see a MAJOR dip in response a few kc off one side of center, followed by a rise. I opted eventually to go to a rig that has this feature built-in, the Icom 756. Good luck; Neil, K1VY On Fri, 11 Jul 2003 05:58:26 GMT, Dick Harper wrote: Has anyone had any luck using a Kenwood SM220 with the BS-8 pan adapter in the spectrum scope mode with a TS-850 or similar rig.
