Hello all. I recently uncovered an old TRC-208 CB handheld. There's a spot on
the side for an external antenna, but the plug looks like a modern day A/V plug you'd find on a TV or VCR. Anyone know what this type plug is called? It's definately not an RCA plug and not anything modern, like a BNC, Mini-UHF or SO-239. I can get a picture of it if needed. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 73! de Andy KC2SSB - WPYI880 (GMRS) Beachwood, NJ USA! Grid FM29vw http://vhfradiobuff.tripod.com |

I believe the plug is called a "Motorola" plug if memory serves me correct.
It is similar to an RCA with the exception of the center pin being a bit longer and the shell being solid instead of little blades as some are. RS used to sell them. Not sure if they do anymore or not. They aren't too hard to find. They can be found with either a direct wire capability OR as an adaptor with opposite ends such as a SO 239. The plugs sell for about $2 each depending on where you get them. Maybe cheaper. G.W. "Brenda Ann" wrote in message ... "VHFRadioBuff" wrote in message ... Hello all. I'd check it again. The two old R/S handheld CBs I own both have RCA phono
jacks for the external antenna. Have you tried radioshack.com and typed in the model number in the Product Manual section. If there is a manual online for it, than you can see what was recommended.
