Default kenwood if-20, rc-20, tm-241 and tm-441

Hi the

I am having some difficulty with the setup that is listed in the
subject line of this posting. I have the RC-20 connected to the IF-20 and
then the two radios are connected to the IF-20.

I have searched on Google under IF-20 and RC-20 with Kenwood included
in the search window.

The problems started out with the display on the TM-241 doing the
flickering and disappearing tricks. I fixed that and have it working again.
So when I put it back in my truck I couldn't get both radios to work on the
RC-20. One radio worked fine and the other one didn't. It turns out one of
the cables from the IF-20 to the radio mic connectors was bad. It turned
out to have two broken wires. I have repaired the cable and gotten it so
that it is correct.

Now what is happening is that I can only operate one radio at a time.
If I try to operate both radios it is almost like the communications between
the first radio and the RC-20 is being interfered with by the second radio.

I can turn on the VHF radio by itself and it works fine. Then I will
turn that off and turn on the UHF radio and it works fine. But if both
radios are on the first one that was turned on will sit there and blink the
display on the last thing it was showing and the second radio will turn the
lights on in the display but not show information on the LCD.

To me it would appear that something to do with multiplexing the data
that is going to or coming from the radios is messed up. Does anyone know
if this would be located in the IF-20 or in the RC-20 unit? I would really
like to get my radios working properly in this setup and not have to choose
one band over the other.

Any help would be greatly appreciated in this matter. Even if it is
just a suggestion of a web page to go look at.

Thanks in advance.
