I just bought the cloning cable and the CS-W32 cloning software for my
new IC-W32A. After writing in 35 vhf repeaters into an .icf file, I connected the radio to my serial port and tried to upload the file to the radio. I got an error message stating the radio is not responding. My serial port is Com 1, 9600, Xon/Xoff No where in the meager DOS instructions that came with this software does it say what the comm settings should be on com1 or com 2 if you are usingf that port. Does anyone out there have any comments/suggestions for me, Also is it possible to clone both VHF and UHF repeaters in one file with out changing to UHF/VHF. As I said the instructions are really meager for my pea-sized brain... Thank you... john aka W3ZDF |

I have read several times about XP limiting the control of ports like the serial and parallel port from DOS programs. I have little experience so far except for a home controller which I can't seem to talk to through Windows XP using a DOS program. A net search does show some external TSR like programs that allow the DOS programs to work through XP. Others here may have different experiences.
