Default Help:Motorola R-2001 Service Monitor

Hello and thanks for reading.
I bought a R-2001D on eBay and am just getting my feet wet on using all the
functions.
Everything seems to be working, but I am wondering about the RF Generate
function. It seems to be low on maximum output - and one line on the display
shows DIST/SINAD INPUT TOO LOW instead of giving the SINAD reading.
Is this a normal reading? If not, is it correctable by an adjustment or what
module needs ti be repaird or replaced?
Thanks for any info you can pass on to me.

Larry, I am not familiar with the 2001D, but have used one many
years ago. I am somewhat confused by your problem description, above.
Unless I am misunderstanding you, you are complaining about low RF
output?... while at the same time complaining about a display line
saying, " DIST/SINAD INPUT TOO LOW " That's two problems. I can't
suggest anything about the first, but what are you hooking the
DIST/SINAD input up to when getting the "too low" reading? It should be
a receiver speaker while you are generating a 1000Hz modulated tone at
3KHz deviation. Sorry if not necessary, but you DO know how to use
the SINAD meter on that instrument, right?
