Does anyone have any info (i.e. band coverage, features,
rs-232 command set, etc.) and/or know where I could find
a manual on a WJ-8690 Receiver. I've done a web search,
and have come up blank. This unit isn't even listed in the
Watkins Johnson product list (on the the premium radios
website). There is a surplus reseller that has some of
these available (and they look kinda interesting), but he
has no info whatever on them.

The first thing that came up on a Google search was Murphy's Surplus
(Mike Murphy). He prefers e-mail instead of phone calls...........give
him a shout. He may even have service information on this unit.
Somewhere in my archives, I've got an old WJ catalog, and I believe that
this receiver is in there, along with several others.
