My problem is that I have an Icom 706 MK-II, that won't power up.
When I push the power button I can hear a relay click in the radio, and a thump in the speaker but that is it. I've checked the fuses internal and external all are ok. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a fix this problem. Thanks in advance and 73's CN8JV Chafik |

Check all wiring to make sure it can handle the current. Make sure no loose connections in the wiring, or connectors. If the radio see's a large voltage drop on startup, it will do what you see. Also, if the voltage or battery drops to a lower than normal level, the radio can "cycle" on and off, on and off. MK all the wiring are ok I think I have shorted the 8V output from TRX to the Ground from the PC sound card. If the internal 8V regulator is burned out, what compounents shuld I replace? |
