Ham radio enthusiasts connect from Steamtown.Â*For a few hours Saturday, an antenna and two ham radio rigs connected people from places like South Dakota, Washington, Alabama and Kentucky to the Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton.Â*About a dozen amateur radio aficionados from the Susquehanna County Amateur Radio Club “activated” the site as part of the National Parks on the Air program — a yearlong initiative celebrating the National Park Service’s 100th anniversary and promoting amateur radio.
